Heerlijk verblijf als tussen stop naar het zuiden.
Pros:

Het ontbijt was helemaal goed .
De kamer heel rustig en een heel vriendelijke ontvangst.
Jammer dat we niet ter plaatse konden eten maar het restaurant om de hoek dat ons werd aanbevolen was helemaal top.

We will not be back to stay there. We were misled.
Pros:

This is NOT what we expected from a “boutique” hotel and ESPECIALLY the birthplace of Tolkien. When we arrived it was like walking into a Shebeen with a braai going on outside and many rowdy drinking guests.

Cons:

see above and the “garden” has no grass whatsoever so to call the place Pet Friendly and then charge R100 per dog was unacceptable. Where are the pets supposed to do a wee? The garden is completely overgrown and a mess and the pool is not clean. When I booked I asked if there was a restaurant in the hotel where we could have dinner and I was told yes. However, dinner comes as a take-away from around the corner! The disappointment in this stay was extreme.

1)Booked a room with DSTV so could watch SA20 cricket qualifier. TV reception was very poor. Staff could not resolve the problem. 2) Bedside light was faulty.

Pros:

Well, im a huge hobbit/LOTR fan, so the idea of staying in a hotel dedicated to them was amazing.

Hotel is in a great location and has great food places nearby

Staff are friendly and Hotel is clean

Cons:

Pool needed to be cleaned
