Personnel au top à Sam’s bungalow, super chambre
Pros:

Le personnel, très sympathique et serviable. L’emplacement est super, au bord de la rivière, proche du départ du trek. La chambre est propre, confortable, eau chaude et climatisation. Ils nous ont organisé le transfert depuis l’aéroport de Medan, top, en voiture puis la fin en scooter.

Cons:

Rien, tout était super.

Wish I could have stayed longer 🌳
Pros:

Lovely view of the Gunung Leuser National Park from my room. Comfortable room and bed with a spacious terrace. Nice food in Sam’s restaurant.

Cons:

It was on the outskirts of the main area. It wasn’t far to walk but as a female travelling alone, I didn’t like walking up there at night.

An unforgettable stay from start to finish
Pros:

Amazing location, incredible food, both breakfast and dinner. Spacious room which was very clean.
Sam Bungalows and Treks made this the best holiday we've ever had. The atmosphere was spot on – relaxed, welcoming and genuinely authentic. Everyone made us feel at home, and it was the perfect place to unwind after exploring. We left with some amazing memories and would love to come back one day.

Cons:

Honestly, there wasn't anything we didn't like. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we'd happily stay here again. If we're ever back in the area, this will be our first choice.

Nice place but a bit disappointed by the food.
Pros:

Spacious room, good AC, balcony.
Terrace of the restaurant overlooking the river and the jungle.

Cons:

Hot water not working. Monkeys jumping on metal sheets roof from 2 am.
Poor breakfast.

Ambiance paisible avec vue sur la jungle 🍃
Pros:

Nous avons passé 2 nuits à Sam’s Bungalow après 3 jours de trek dans la jungle (organisé via une autre agence). Notre chambre était spacieuse et confortable, nous avons beaucoup apprécié la terrasse avec vue sur la jungle et les singes !
L’ambiance est paisible, le restaurant est très joli et nous y avons bien mangé. L’hôtel propose des services de laundry et de transferts ce qui est bien pratique.

Expérience inoubliable
Pros:

Nous venons de quitter le logement après 5 nuits. Sam, Andri, et tout le reste de l'équipe sont supers. Ils font tout pour que vous soyez bien, et que vous profitiez un maximum de votre séjour. Nous avons l'impression de quitter des membres de notre famille, au terme de ces 5 jours. Les logements, confortables, sont situés en bord de rivière, au bout du village, donc un peu plus au calme, mais pourtant qu'à 5 / 10 minutes à pied des bars ou autres restaurants.
Petit déjeuner très bon, comme le restaurant, ou pour boire un verre au bar, en entendant la rivière.
Sam organise aussi des treks pour voir les Orang outans. On a fait un trek de 2 jours 1 nuit, avec Andri et Habib. Superbe expérience, avec ces 2 supers guides. Expérience mémorable avec la femelle Orang outang avec son bébé, accroché qui est venue nous rendre visite au campement, mais aussi la descente en rafting pour finir le trek et revenir au logement.

Perfect from start to finish! 100% recommended from us.
Pros:

11/10 stay! The room was superb and so were the staff. The food was ace too- recommend the Potato curry and jungle chicken. Yum!

We also did the 2 day jungle trek with Andre and Henri which was one of the highlights of our 10 month travels. We saw 7 Orangutans along with lots of other wildlife. If you fancy doing a trek please book through these guys!!

Pros:

Sympa d'avoir les macaques à longue queue qui se baladent sur les toits des bungalows.
Très belle vue depuis l'espace restaurant.
Personnel très aimable et qui nous a trouvé un chauffeur pour venir nous chercher à Medan

Super nice place to stay and trek
Pros:

Staff were great. We had a great trekking guide (Andri) who was aware of not getting too close or interfering with the animals etc. Food in the restaurant was great and reasonably priced. View from the restaurant and rooms is great. We saw an orangutan from the restaurant (across the river).

Cons:

The WiFi in the rooms doesn't work at all. We changed rooms after our trek and it didn't work in either.
Bring cash and earplugs as the only atm is a 25 mins drive, and the monkeys can be loud at night.
