Very nice place in the heart of Quetzal Country!
Pros:

The location on the Avocado grove hillside in very modern passive heated large room and nice bathroom. The meals and staff at the modern restaurant are excellent. Trout entrees are great and the salads to die-for!

Cons:

In mid-March the nights and early mornings are quite cold! Though ample blankets keep you warm and cozy you will feel the chill.

NOUS AVONS ADORÉ CE LOGEMENT ! la chambre était très propre et très spacieuse ! Très bien équipée peut être qu'un sèche-cheveux dans les chambre serait un petit plus ! Très calme et très belle vue! La chambre était très bien équipée! Nous avons adoré le petit déjeuné qui était probablement l'un des meilleurs que nous ayons eu!!!! Super pour les randos aux alentours nous avons fait le Cerro de la muerte c'était magnifique. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le frais de la "montagne" après les chaleurs de la côte pacifique ! Mais la chambre est très bien équipée contre le froid! Nous avons très bien dormi !!!!

An absolute gorgeous property that would thrill hikers and birdwatchers.
Pros:

The hotel was very clean. I liked that we had individual cabins that were very large. The location was fantastic with great hikes within walking distance. The food in the drink drinks were very good and there are other restaurants within 1 to 5 minutes to explore. The many colorful flowers were abundant, and there were many different types of hummingbirds everywhere. The sound of the river rushing was great to hear as it rushed past the front of the property. The Quetzel sighting in the morning was amazing. If you have your own car, you can just drive up the road and when you see all the people standing there, just get out and use your spotting scope.. You don’t necessarily need a guide unless you don’t have your own car.

Cons:

The property and the surrounding area was fantastic. My only caution is that it’s a difficult drive to get to at night. The road is very narrow and windy with no lights. So be careful.

Trotz der Mängel sehr zu empfehlen.
Pros:

Sehr schöne großzügige Unterkunft, die geschmackvoll eingerichtet ist.sehr Gutes Essen

Cons:

Es ist insbesondere morgens sehr kalt und für heißes Wasser fehlt der nötige Druck.
Der Reinigungsservice könnte verbessert werden. Wir haben Essensreste vorgefunden und am nächsten Tag wurde das Zimmer gar nicht gereinigt

Fantastic stay!
Pros:

Gorgeous setting in the valley, with individual cabins beautifully furnished. Staff are fantastic and always helpful, informative and thoughtful.
Food in their restaurant was delicious, really well-presented and timely. The grounds are lovely, full of hummingbirds, and their tropical garden is a hidden gem for birds and chilling.

Cons:

Just worth bearing in mind that it’s in a valley, some of the cabins are up the hill a little way. And it’s cooler than other parts of CR - for which the hotel provides blankets and throws, so it’s fine.

Exceptional Family-Run Lodge with Fantastic Food and Incredible Hospitality
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at Lauraceas Lodge. It’s set in a beautiful mountain valley,with gorgeous grounds, a lovely botanical garden, and hummingbirds everywhere on the property.

The lodge is family-owned, and the hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, always happy to help with anything we needed. The food was excellent- the trout was delicious, and breakfast was extensive with fresh-squeezed juices, homemade breads, and a choice of entrées.
They also arranged a bird-watching tour for us, which was a lot of fun and a great experience. We couldn’t recommend this place more and would happily stay here again.

Cons:

Nothing to dislike at all - the stay was really perfect. Just a heads-up that because the lodge is at a higher elevation, it can get chilly at night and in the morning. Bringing warm pajamas or loungewear and a light jacket or fleece to keep you warm and comfortable.

Le meilleur lodge de notre voyage, allez-y!
Pros:

Absolument tout est fantastique dans ce lodge, très grand et décoré avec goût. Il y avait plusieurs fleurs fraîches à notre arrivée sur les serviettes et un peu partout wow! Petit déjeuner excellent , il y avait même un fruit exotique délicieux appelé le tomatillos, je me suis régalée!

Cons:

Rien sauf le prix un peu cher mais on l’oublie vu les prestations

Beautiful place, lovely food but chilly
Pros:

Lovely spacious room in a beautiful location. Food in the restaurant was great - particularly the grilled trout with very well prepared vegetables. Nice to wake up to the sound of the river just yards away.

Cons:

It got very cold at night and while the 3 blankets plus a duvet kept us warm in bed, the small fan heater could not prevent the high-ceilinged room from being freezing in the morning. Service in the restaurant was slow - but freshly prepared food delicious, just don't book your table for less than 45 minutes before you actually hope to eat!

Nice room - beautiful location!
Pros:

Wonderful room with a beautiful view out the window. We loved watching the hummingbirds. The breakfast was very good - as were the dinners. The location was excellent!

Cons:

The lighting could be better outside and inside. There wasn't a safe or small refrigerator.

Nice property shame about the quetzals
Pros:

Clean modern room and dining area, helpful staff good food. Nice off site garden.

Cons:

Bedroom was very cold at night. Quetzal tour was awful; a dozen people in our bus converging with 100 others by the road hoping for a sighting. Though we saw one afterwards the whole experience was not good.

Incredible place! Very peacefully, the sound of the river, the view, the staff… everything was so great!! We loved it! The room is so confortable and huge, the blackout amazing! Nothing bad to say. We’re definitely going back very soon. Easily the best hotel in the zone
