Old school, outdated German "Pension" without food options
Pros:

Location if you need to be at the Bayreuth Hospital early in the morning.

Cons:

WIFI didn't work on second floor. Hotel is managed and operated "remotely" and you have to make a local phone call to get your keys from a locker. All service is complicated and in German. Processes are not streamlined at all. Virtually one external food option in entire village, no food options at hotel except breakfast. No visible staff on property. There is a lady, but she is not easy to find and there is no reception or the like, so you always have to look out for her.

OK for a 1-night "Motel", for anything else, as they really offer the absolute bare minimum, it is actually not a good deal and too expensive.

Pros:

Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent and evening meal was also available if you wanted it. The countryside is very pretty around hotel and I will go back another time to explore this.

The location was further from Bayreuth than expected which meant potentially expensive taxi fares

A wonderful traditional hotel a bit outside of Bayreuth
Pros:

I loved the rooms and the beautiful garden. the staff was very friendly and cleaned the rooms when you went out for the day, even if it was quite late in the afternoon. I also really liked the breakfast and the location is amazing if you like hiking and short bike trips! The internet connection was great as well!
