Beautiful corner of the world
Pros:

We had a fantastic stay and loved our terrace overlooking the beautiful grounds. Such exotic plants all around. Simon was very welcoming and friendly. He recommended a great place to go to relax in the hot springs. There are two outstanding places to eat right on the doorstep. We loved the location, away from the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna. Also loved the dogs.

Cons:

Although it certainly wouldn’t put us off staying again, I think it may be useful for future guests if you mentioned that there is no hot water and you need to use the kettle which is kept under the sink. We felt embarrassed asking.

Toucan Lane is a relaxing place between the Rio Celeste area and La Fortuna.
Pros:

Simon and Joana were great hosts in that they always inquired if we needed anything. The hotel was well appointed and very relaxing.

Tolles kleines familiäres Hostel. Sehr nette Besitzer.

Sehr nette Besitzer! Haben tolle Tipps gegeben. Unglaublich feines Restaurant direkt nebenan. Grosse Dusche, sehr sauber. Kleiner schöner Pool. Viele Vögel zum beobachten. Kolibris, Tukane… Schöne Aussicht. Ruhige Lage. Sehr gutes grosses Bett!

Die Zimmer sind etwa altmodisch, aber in sehr gutem Zustand.

Pros:

Joanna and Simon were wonderful hosts! Toucan Lane was beautiful, the food at the Drunky Monkey was absolutely delicious. All of the staff were incredibly friendly.

Authentic glamping paradise that is affordable for families.
Pros:

Toucan Lane is authentic CR holiday home that has individual rooms and lush gardens. The owners, Simon and Joanne are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about CR! The morning breakfast by Deanna was delicious and hearty. The grounds and swimming pool were beautiful! The Jungle Suite has one open air room (screens) with a queen bed and sitting area that allows you to listen and watch for birds and wildlife. We appreciated the California king bed in the second bedroom that had air conditioning. Toucan Lane is located about 35 minutes away from La Fortuna and can accommodate families as they offer a suite with a micro fridge, coffeemaker and toaster oven. P

Cons:

The location is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna but an easy drive during the daytime. Driving at night is a bit challenging due to the road curves, lack of street lights and other auto’s on the roadway. Establishments close early (before 8) so I’d recommend a late lunch! We had no problems driving to all activities during the daylight!
