Peaceful place in winter with very welcoming host.
Pros:

We visited during winter. It is a very nice bad & Breakfast style property. Room was spacious and everything worked well. It is made in old style as it is actually a very old servants house of the castle originally. (It is 2 min walk from Rundāle castle). Do not expect everything to be brand new or flawless - it is full with history and that is the charm of it. The owners have done a huge job renovating. Do not miss the breakfast - it is worth it! We had wonderful eggs, pancakes, cakes, even salted herring and cottage cheese. Breakfast was cooked and served for each guest individually! Very generous service! Host available for help all the time.

Cons:

This did not bother us, but might be important for other travelers during winter. Keep in mind it is a room, so you do not have a kitchen and during winter restaurants are closed during weekdays. So for lunch or diner you need to go to Bauska or prepare snacks. There is fridge in the room, so you can keep them fresh!

Cons:

There was no hot water in the shower in the evening. We tried to take a shower in the morning as well, but there was still no hot water. So unfortunately, we had to stay without a shower during our stay.

Atrašanās vieta ir lieliska un skaistā vietā. Paldies!

Cons:

Ierados ar vīru un mazdēlu. Dvieļi bija visiem trijiem, bet tikai divas mazas šķidro ziepju paciņas dušai. Kaut viens ziepju gabaliņš uz trijiem būtu labāk, ērtāk un pietiekami.
Derētu elektriskā tējkanna katrā istabiņā, lai netraucētu kaimiņus.
Televizors ir, bet lietot nebija iespējams, jo trūka vadības pults un elektriskais pagarinātājs.

Nepatīkami pārsteidza vienkāršu tējkarotīšu trūkums . Koplietošanas trauku skapī koridorā atradu vien mazītiņu garšvielu karotīti, krējumkaroti ar garu kātu un finiera vienreizējas lietošanas karoti. Arī citi galda piederumi varētu būt vairāk.

Pros:

Esmu ļoti priecīga nakšņot viesu mājā "Baltā māja". Saimniece ātri reaģēja uz to, ka esam kopā ar maziem bērniem un istabas nomainīja uz tuvākām. Cena ļoooti laba. Ieradāmies ļoti vēlu, un saimniece sagaidīja bezjebkādām problēmām. Izstāstīja interesantus stāstus. Arī bērniem patikai kaut arī tur nebija kautkādu īpašu lietu speciāli bērniem! Ārā gan - tur bērni ar lielu prieku izšūpojās. Rundāles pils tik tuvu...

Baltā māja was a beautifully renovated old house, actually servants' quarters from the time of Rundāles castle, as the owners told us. It is situated next to Rundāles castle, so the location was perfect for us, going to visit the castle next day. During our stay in November we were the only guests, so we got the upstairs - kitchenette, bath room and toilet - completely for us. The rooms were nice and tidy and there were beautiful and aesthetic details, old clay items and pots, old farm tools etc. everywhere in the house to watch for every footstep. Amazingly decorated interiors where every detail was thought out. Bookshelves and comfortable armchairs in small snugs and other things that made the place feel very cozy. Our arrival was late in the evening at 9 PM, and we couldn't get supper since the restaurant, kept by the owners wasn't open at those hours any longer. Breakfast was traditional Latvian and it was delicious and sufficient - we had omelet or Latvian pancakes. The staff was very kind and helpful and would have been available all the time if it had been needed. Pricewise excellent, breakfast was charged separately

Cons:

We would have liked something to eat in the evening as we arrived, anything, and the breakfast was slightly expensive
