Wonderful food, cannot be faulted
Room, bed unmade 1st day, very dirty mouldy shower hose and tiles, no milk on 3rd day. Minor issue but the little details are what people notice, more care and attention required by housekeeping.
The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Every staff member we met gave exceptional service. The location was perfect for our needs.
The rooms were exceptionally hot and uncomfortable. I accept that there is a heatwave in the country at the moment and no one can control the weather, but there was only one small fan in the room. These rooms require air conditioning or at least a bigger fan in the summer months, especially when you are paying more than £100 per night.
Good location and clean room and ensuite and very reasonably priced
Unfortunately, I cannot identify anything positive about this stay because I was unable to sleep and my concerns were not resolved.
I paid the standard room rate and was allocated an attic room with windows facing a busy main road on both sides. The traffic noise was clearly noticeable as soon as I entered the room. I immediately asked for a quieter room, and a member of staff said he would check whether another room was available. He also told me that the road would become much quieter at night. However, I was never offered another room or given any further update.
The traffic noise continued throughout the night and I was unable to sleep at all. At around midnight, I repeatedly called the night porter using the telephone provided in the corridor, but nobody answered. I also called the property’s telephone number listed on Booking.com several times, again without an answer. I then contacted Booking.com, but they were also unable to reach the property.
The following morning, staff suggested that I should have gone downstairs because someone had been there. However, I had previously been told that the pub closed at 11 p.m. As a woman staying alone, I did not feel comfortable leaving my room in sleepwear and walking downstairs in the middle of the night when nobody had answered the designated night porter telephone.
I had specifically booked accommodation because I needed to rest before driving for approximately three hours the following day. Instead, I received no sleep and no effective assistance. I considered leaving during the night, but I did not believe it would have been safe to drive while severely tired.
I was also concerned about the cleanliness of the bedding and pillows. After staying in the room, I developed an itchy rash on my body, which has continued after checkout. I cannot confirm the exact cause, but the timing has made me concerned that the bedding, pillowcases or other fabrics in the room may not have been adequately clean.
Great hotel, very friendly staff, great location. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. Overall a very pleasant stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful . the room was really of great value . The restaurant food for dinner and breakfast was top notch . Happily go again if we are down that way , Also when we travel we will be on the look out for more of these
Clean and good service
No water in room in high temperatures. Fan not adequate.
Spacious room for 4 people, nice terrace/pub and friendly staff. Only stayed one night for a friend’s birthday.
Our room faced the main road which was quite noisy at night as we heard all the car traffic outside. The sofa bed is not comfortable for an adult - quite hard to sleep on, but it would be fine for kids.
