Pros:

I like that it is in a silent area. The owner took care of us a lot. He was really friendly, helpful and goodheart. He made our breakfast ready for 4:30a.m I really appreciate that.

The rooms is big and it is clean.

Der Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel sowie die darüber gebuchte Safari waren insgesamt eine der schlechtesten Reiseerfahrungen überhaupt.

Hotel & Lage
Das Hotel war deutlich schlechter gelegen als auf den Bildern dargestellt. Direkt unter den Zimmern wurde – wie lokal üblich – mit Holz gekocht bzw. Feuer betrieben, wodurch permanent Rauch in unser Zimmer gezogen ist. Ein Lüften war kaum möglich. Zusätzlich hat der Kühlschrank im Zimmer extrem stark nach Schimmel und Verwesung gerochen, sodass sich ein dauerhafter unangenehmer Gestank im gesamten Raum verbreitet hat.

Essen im Hotel
Am Abend konnten wir über das Hotel Essen bestellen. Die Preise lagen über dem üblichen Niveau in Sri Lanka, die Qualität war jedoch völlig inakzeptabel.
• Wartezeit: über 90 Minuten
• Mehrfaches Nachfragen notwendig
• Essen kam halb kalt an
• Pommes komplett weich
• Chicken Chop Suey schmeckte eindeutig nach mehrfach aufgewärmtem Essen

Nach einer langen Anreise war dies besonders enttäuschend.

Organisation der Safari
Die vom Hotel organisierte Safari wurde offenbar von einem Bekannten oder Familienmitglied durchgeführt. Rückblickend entsteht klar der Eindruck eines überteuerten und schlecht organisierten Angebots.
• Preis: 50.000 Rupien, vollständige Barzahlung wurde überraschend vor Abfahrt verlangt
• Start um 4:30 Uhr morgens, obwohl der Nationalpark erst um 6:00 Uhr öffnet
• Fahrer musste zunächst tanken, da das Fahrzeug nicht vorbereitet war
• Sehr langsame Fahrt (teilweise ca. 20 km/h außerhalb des Parks)
• Über 20 Jeeps haben uns überholt

Im Park selbst zeigte sich, dass der Fahrer offensichtlich keinerlei Erfahrung hatte.
• Wir waren dauerhaft das letzte Fahrzeug in der Kolonne
• Keine gezielte Suche nach Tieren
• Fahrer folgte lediglich anderen Jeeps
• Kaum Stopps zur Tierbeobachtung
• Insgesamt praktisch keine Tiere gesehen

Nach mehreren zuvor durchgeführten Safaris in Sri Lanka war dies mit großem Abstand die schlechteste Erfahrung.

Relaxing and quiet
Pros:

Great location set amongst the rice paddies, only a short tuktuk to Tissa.

Perfect After Long Safari
Pros:

Nice and clean room! Functioning hot shower and AC unit. We had dinner here and it was really good! Breakfast is great and plentiful.

Cons:

No coffee/tea cups in the room. Although, we requested them early morning and within 5 mins had cups!

Lovely small hotel located in the middle of rice fields with very helpful staff.
Pros:

The location of this very small hotel among the rice fields is lovely. Don't miss the incredible sunset! The family room is very convenient, clean and spacious. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has efficiently organised the jeep safari in Yala for us - a must-do - as well as car transfer to our next stop. Everything went smootly. Highly recommended.

Cons:

We couldn't change the temperature of the A/C in the bedroom.

Stanza con vista, piacevole per visitare Yala
Pros:

La stanza in cui abbiamo soggiornato aveva una vista bellissima e rilassante sui campi di riso circostanti, ci è piaciuto anche il tavolino di fronte sotto l'ombra di un albero dove rilassarci e riposare dal viaggio, in condivisione con l'altra stanza al piano.
Il WiFi e l'aria condizionata funzionavano, anche se non è servito più di tanto visto che ha fatto fresco la sera. Il bagno era comodo. In stanza c'era anche un bollitore, utile per prepararsi un tè o un caffè.
La posizione è molto buona per visitare il parco di Yala, ci hanno aiutato a organizzare un safari per la mattina dopo. Purtroppo è un po' isolato, alla fine di una lunga via in mezzo ai campi, ci hanno organizzato loro una cena nel posto, facendoci scegliere da un menù al nostro arrivo nel pomeriggio, molto buona e con prezzi onesti. Ci hanno fatto portare la colazione per il Safari con toast e frutta.

Pros:

The rooms are as described,they are comfortable and clean.the host is very kind,he can arrange you the safari tours at the best rate ! Trust me ! You can enjoy the view on the field ,and have a dinner there ! Highly recommend ! Thank you very much..

Pros:

Very goood staff the family help us a lot and make our stay better that we expected. It’s a perfect place to relax after safari long day. In the city there is no too much places to go out for eat but they give us a menu with a lot of options and we could have very good dinner. Good place to see the sunset!

Pros:

I had an amazing experience at Village Mango Resort Thissamaharama. The staff was friendly and helpful from check in to check out. The room was clean, comfortable and the view is amazing. One of the highlights was the safari tour arranged by the hotel and it was perfectly organized. We saw many animals at Yala National Park. The safari driver also well experienced. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for relaxation and adventures safari tours..

The best place to go on safari tours in Thissamaharama.
Pros:

Village mango resort is one of the best hotels we spent in Sri Lanka. Staff, Food, View, Nature, all are superb. And the best part is the safari tour. The hotel arranged us a tour and we had an unforgettable experience with the safari driver. We saw all the animals in the Yala Safari. Leopards, Elephants, Bears etc. Then we went on a safari tour again. (Morning half and evening half) The driver has a great experience about the jungle and the roads. We went 3 kinds of safari in Sri Lanka and this was the best. I think this is the best place to go on a yala safari tour. Very good & appreciate it!! ❤️

The room its ok don't book the safari with them you will be disappointed
Pros:

The accommodation is okay just about clean.
There were just some cockroaches and ants around, but given the location, it's to be expected. The view is ok.

Cons:

Disappointing. This is not a resort. I do not recommend booking the safari with them for several reasons: the driver is unpleasant, it's very expensive for the quality and comfort of the vehicle. Also, the safari was supposed to be from 4:30 AM to 12:00 PM, but by 10:30 AM the driver was already heading back. When I pointed out that it wasn't time to leave yet, he just said 'okay' and wasted time driving in circles around the national park until 11:30, without seeing any animals - just fences. In short, don't book the safari with them, you'll be disappointed.
