Double Lake View Tissa & Safari

Tolle Lage direkt an zwei Seen, unglaubliche Tierwelt zu beobachten. Das Haus und die Familie sind wahnsinnig herzlich, wir wurden von der Tochter ganz toll empfangen und von der Mutter bekocht, vielen lieben Dank nochmal :)

Amazing breakfast, super helpful owners. Great trip to the lake to watch flying foxes, birds and crocodiles. Very good safari arranged by them, driver was really successful in finding us best spots to take a photo of leopard, elephants and other animals.

It was nice property, value for money. It was clean and well equipped with necessary requirements. Morning breakfast in the large balcony was amazing. The caretaker welcomes us with fresh coconut water, a sweet gesture.

Very, very clean and comfortable, but also lots of extra practical touches, like an overhead fan (in conjunction with excellent A/C) lots of electrical sockets in useful places, an extra rack to dry towels. Private balcony for our room, plus a very large balcony at the front of the property, overlooking the lake.

Dinner was excellent, and very good value.

Nice accomodation, the host was very helpfull, arrange the full day safari for good price. He even check the oil on my rented Tuktuk.

房间干净卫生，晚上也很安静。关键是老板帮忙定的safari很靠谱，带我们找到了豹子、熊、鳄鱼、大象......，结束后免费提供淋雨，最后还把我们送到汽车站送我们上车!

Superb hospitality. The owner goes out of his way to please you. Bring you great food on a veranda with beautiful views on the lake. Anything you want he will arrange for you.

We hebben hier een heel fijn verblijf gehad. De gastheer was ontzettend vriendelijk en zorgde ervoor dat we ons meteen welkom voelden. Onze tuktuk konden we zonder problemen in de voortuin parkeren.

Bij aankomst kwam ik erachter: de eerste foto van de accommodatie toont een soort blauwe stoep, waarvan wij dachten dat het een zwembad was, dit was het dus niet ;) Gelukkig maakte het prachtige uitzicht over het meer alles meer dan goed.

De accommodatie is erg schoon en vanaf het balkon heb je een mooi uitzicht, met veel vogels om te spotten. Voor natuurliefhebbers echt een fijne plek. De weg ernaartoe is wel hobbelig, maar via een klein omweggetje kun je dit grotendeels vermijden.

Op korte rijafstand kun je de flying foxes zien, wat wij op aanraden van de gastheer gelijk zijn gaan doen met zonsondergang. Houd er wel rekening mee dat er eigenlijk niets echt op loopafstand is; je bent dus afhankelijk van een vervoersmiddel.

Al met al een rustige, schone accommodatie met een schitterend uitzicht en een zeer gastvrije eigenaar!

Jaya is incredibly friendly, helpful, informative and has many contacts and well respected in the community. The location is very beautiful with many birds. Don’t miss the fruit bats at dusk. Jaya can arrange most things such as long distance taxis and safari rides. The location is quiet and peaceful

unserer Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hat uns sehr gute tipps über die Umgebung gegeben. Von der Terrasse ist der Blick auf den See sehr schön. Wir haben See Adler gesehen, sowie viele andere Vogelarten und, natürlich,die Flughunde. Wir hatten ein leckeres Frühstück. Wie kommen sehr gern wieder.

The hotel is located in a beautiful spot right across the lake. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We booked a half-day safari through the hotel, and there is also a full-day safari option available. We were picked up from the hotel in the morning and dropped back off after the safari. Our driver was excellent, and thanks to him we even managed to see a leopard. The room was clean, and both breakfast and lunch were tasty. It’s easy to find tuk-tuks to get to the central areas. The hotel also offers guided walks along the lakeside, but we preferred to explore the area on our own by walking. Don’t leave without seeing the flying foxes (fruit bats).

Excellent location service and rooms.

From start to finish we had an incredible stay here. The hospitality and service was the best we’ve had in all of our Sri Lanka trip. The hosts were easy to speak to over WhatsApp - booking us an amazing Yala tour before we arrived, picked us up and dropped us at the bus stop to help us get to the next destination Ella, took us on a wonderful lake tour to see the lake and bats in the evening of arrival and was always on hand to help us throughout our stay. The food was also amazing, with brilliant breakfasts and dinners after our day trips, all while sitting on the balcony overlooking the lake and watching the birds and other wildlife. For the price, it’s really a no brainier to stay here - the rooms were A/C, beds comfy and everything super clean. Thank you for an amazing stay!!

Double Lake View is a stunning place to stay. The bedrooms are upstairs with a big shared verandah that overlooks the two lakes. The garden and lake area are alive with bird life. One evening he took us for a tuk tuk tour along the two lakes for bird viewing, to see hundreds of flying foxes leaving the trees and the two thousand year old temple.
The room was very comfortable and clean and they gave us a kettle to use for making tea. There is a shared fridge and ironing facilities on the landing. The meals were very delicious and generous serving sizes. They were all so very hospitable and the manager is extremely helpful, organised and welcoming. He organised a safari tour to Udawalawa on our first afternoon, a taxi to get there and large lunch. It is a very central place to access Udawalawa, Yala and Bundala. We had a perfect stay there and were very sad to leave. Thank you so much, especially for the famous Tissamaharama buffalo curd!

This was a gorgeous property staying with a wonderful and hospitable family. The room was incredibly clean and comfortable with great AC and good wifi. This was probably our favourite stay so far in Sri Lanka because we felt so welcomed. The owner took us on a tour of the lakes and temples and town area, including a visit to see the amazing bats fly at sunset which was one of a kind. We ate all meals at the homestay and everything was delicious, from fried rice to kottu to traditional curry. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay, they also organised our safari which was fantastic as we got to see a leopard amongst other animals! Wish we had been able to stay longer.
