The staff were courteous and helpful. The location was convenient for what we were interested in.. The overall ambience was good.
There was not any breakfast available to buy or free. There was no daily housekeeping. Parking was a hassle. The stairs were a killer - elevator is needed at least for luggage. Insect infestation was not appealing. Very poor value meaning price for what you get. The idea of having to pay upfront without being able to cancel within 24 hours is awful. Will never use the booking service again - my fault second time I got ripped off by them.
Good location
Good location and very good hosts
The staff is always friendly and accommodating.
59 stairs up and 59 stairs down.
Loved the atmosphere when we walked through the door. Deco. was nice. Stairs were not bad at all.
When I opened the door and seen the dirty stained carpet and noticed the bed frame that was appoilster on the bed was stained in several places. The sheet would not stay on the bed. I noticed that whomever made it didn't get them fitted correctly. Bathroom- mirror was hug to the moon and all I seen was the top of my hair. I could use a full length one. Bathroom looked like it needed cleaned and repainted. Yes the place was old but paint, cleaned along with the grout should have been done. I have never been in a room so disappointed. To
Sue at the front desk was great at accommodating our schedules throughout our stay.
Great staff!
Great people..so helpful
Centrally located and parking area to leave your vehicle for a daily fee.
The bed in room 110 was literally like concrete and I could feel the actual springs in my back. The mattress was unacceptably old and needs replacing. I stayed in October and my bed was very comfortable. I was told at the desk that some of the mattresses were recently replaced. If you book a room here I would call ahead and ask if the room you’re getting has a newish mattress or at least only book one night so that if it is terrible you can look for somewhere else to stay because you can’t get a refund and they’re usually too booked for you to switch rooms. It’s a beautiful hotel and the staff are very friendly but for me a bed like that is a deal breaker.
Great location, unique historic property
Parking was a bit of a task but not much to do about that.
Most of everything, was so fun. Staff was absolutely amazing and super nice. No matter the amount of partying we were doing.
I would have to say the only thing was the lights were coming right into the bedroom all night long. And I had to dig for that one.
N
None
To many stairs
The lamp next to the bed was good.
I booked the 100 Grand Suite at $250 a day in the off season. When I arrived the clerk told me to park around back and leave the keys to my car with him for the duration of the stay so they could move it when they needed. seemed odd. He then shows me my room which was under the hotel next to the laundry and employee smoking lounge. So to my surprise my room did not connect to the hotel, the access to my room was in the alley behind the hotel. To access the hotel I had to go down the alley and up a set of stairs I would suspect were built around the year 1899. The room being in the alley was interesting. with the room being butting up to the alley It was kind of loud with cars and people around 6am the delivery shows up to deliver to a business in the alley for about and hour and then the trash truck showed at around 7am. So I decided to get up and take a shower to start the day since I was already up because of all of the interuptions and the fact the bed was hard as a rock and the pillows flat as my grandmas pancakes. So to my discovery The Jacuzzi tub is the shower so I had climb over the wall to get in the tub. Mind You I am not a short man I am 6 feet tall. I get in the show I notice the drain is clogged and the tub is filling with water, so once the water got to my calves I ended my shower. So I make decision to end the stay after one night. No harm no foul. I make my way down the alley and up the stairs and around the block to the hotel entrance. The morning clerk is the highlight of the stay. Very professional and nice. I was told that yes I could get a refund for the next night it would not be a problem and the afternoon clerk would put the refund into the computer. I leave and begin the day anew headed for Springdale AR to restart the trip over. Then a few days passed I didn't see a refund on my card I called and a woman answered and told me that I was not getting a refund and they don't do refunds which leads us to this review page.
The rooms are quirky, unique. The building is historic and located right in the heart of things. Their voodoo lounge serves amazing drinks in a gorgeous New Orleans room bleeding purple and Mardi Gras vibes
