Staff were great, the hotel needs updating - there is no way it's a 4 star

Cons:

Room smelt a bit damp, it wasn't dirty but it needed a refresh, everything was a bit worn and tired. Anti slip in bath was an issue. Towels are very old and worn, clean but old. Only a USB socket next to the bed so had to plug a usbc in at the desk which was annoying.

Relaxing stay. Good location for Metro Centre and other shops / eateries with bus or train to City.
Pros:

Room was clean, spacious and well-equipped. Staff were really friendly and helpful - at breakfast and in the bar.
A really smart hotel -especially with Christmas decorations still up.
We stayed a couple of nights over New Year. Despite the celebrations, the hotel was peaceful and relaxing.
We enjoyed using the pool and jacuzzi.
All very good. Would stay again.

We stayed for my partners 40th birthday and were surprised by 2 free drink tokens that had been left. Lovely touch.
