Despite the fact that I wasn't assigned the room I paid for (totally no fault of hotel, but disappointed as a 'Genius 3 member' to be 'tricked this way by Booking.com) the staff, food, & beautiful surroundings, totally made up for the 'dilemma'. This is a cosy, quirky, family establishment that is impeccably & professionally run. I loved the 'musical influences' throughout; ... a thoughtful & memorable dedication to former music lover, owner & founder, the late & dearly loved John Kelly. I loved the place! We also got to see one of my favourite bands, in their fabulous new entertainment hall, also used for wedding receptions, & the undulating grounds outside, with the stunning sea-view backdrop, perfect for those memorable wedding photos! This hotel has so much to offer, but it's the relaxed, personable, chilled vibe that did it for me, ... not forgetting adorable Riley, sitting on her armchair in Reception, giving her own personal welcome! I will be back!

Staff were so happy and helpful
Very charming building and staff in an amazing location.
We were expecting to stay in the hotel however were put into a very small prefab room with extremely thin walls.
We heard everything the neighbours were saying (and more....).
In summary: note the "Garden Room" is not actually in the hotel, despite the impression on the listing.

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. The bedroom was spacious and immaculately clean. The staff are the friendliest and most genuinely helpful people I have ever met in any hotel. The breakfast was perfect, not a buffet style! Evening meal was delicious, especially fish of the day and Haven Mess dessert! This wad our second time staying here and we can't wait to return!

Great location and atmosphere, very charming building. Great ocean views, fitting decor. Some of the staff were very nice and helpful.
Stuffy room. I found a viagra pill on the floor from a previous guest. Someone was banging around in a hallway bathroom directly below me from 3-5 am which I found really weird. I was exhausted the next day because of lack of sleep. If you stay here, perhaps the garden rooms outside the main house would be quieter.
