Stayed here before and will do so again when the occasion arises.
Pros:

Traditional hotel nicely restored. Comfortable room and beds.
Nice breakfast and friendly staff.

Cons:

Lighting in our room could be a bit brighter.

Our stay in a pleasant room was totally ruined by tv noise from an adjoining room.
Pros:

Delightful room overlooking the centre of town. Comfortable super-king size bed. Well-equipped bathroom.

Cons:

The appalling lack of sound insulation between our room ( Room 2 ) and other guest rooms. The tv in a nearby bedroom was extremely loud until approximately 10.30pm a reasonable hour, I suppose. But this morning we were awakened at 6.00am and heard almost every word and sound of the tv next door until it was switched off at 7.30am. I am not a light sleeper but it was impossible to sleep. I checked out and I mentioned this to reception and was told that this issue was not unknown to the hotel but the age of the building must be part of the problem.

Pros:

This hotel was excellent in every way. The room was spacious and well-designed Food was superb with great vegan options. It is a lovely building with a perfect blend of historic and modern design. Parking was easy and the location was perfect for exploring the area. Highly recommended.

Friendly comfortable hotel, ideal for your dog.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent.
Staff super friendly, polite and very accommodating Room was spotless and the bed and pillows were super comfy.
Great friendly bar and outside seating.

Cons:

Evening menu very limited. A couple of the dishes were very expensive and really not the best quality.
We have stayed here numerous times. But on this occasion the food was pub grub and not up to par, particularly the Caesar salad.
When we stayed previously we were not affect by noise from adjoining rooms. On this occasion we had broken sleep on two occasions (4 am on one occassion) with people making a racket talking very loudly and laughing. (Sound proving was poor) in the end I banged the wall quite hard and they eventually shut up.
Book last minute if you can the price we paid on one of the nights was double what we booked in advance.

Very reasonably priced. Surprisingly beautiful room. Good food downstairs and we could bring the dog.

Love Badger Brewery locations - staff and food was lovely, hotel could do with a refurb.
Pros:

The food was excellent, the room was comfortable and the family room arrangement worked well.

Cons:

The hotel is a bit dated. You don't stay at a place like this for the modern decor but the general appearance of the place internally was a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refresh. This didn't impact our stay but we weren't wowed with what a smart, fresh location it was.
