Great location and value for money (room)
Pros:

Comfortable beds, great powerful shower (though you have to step into a high sided bath). Nice quality full sized toiletries provided plus a good tea/coffee selection. Convenient car park. Had a couple of drinks with good service but didn’t eat there.

Cons:

Dead leaves & litter in the reception area and a lot of litter down the side of the hotel.

Pros:

Wonderful hotel, beautifully decorated with lovely heritage furniture. Cozy lounge, restaurant, bar. Great food, excellent staff. Alongside a nice river walk and local shops.

The area

Cons:

There was a dip in the floor boards, had to be carefully.
We were not told our room key fitted the front door, we were outside banging on the door for 10 mins in the rain, till a cleaner heard us.

Lovely traditional hotel
Pros:

It was a lovely, if slightly old fashioned but traditional style hotel. Staff were kind and helpful and with a fine breakfast.

Second time staying here. Friendly welcome and room had everything you could possibly need.

Bed was hard and our room was a little noisy could hear staff early morning.
