Location
Where do I start. First there is NO AC and 1 single fan for a 2 bedroom cabin with s family room. No screens in kitchen. It was boiling. I asked for excursion fans, but staff said there was no extra. We resorted the cold showets right before bed. Early the next morning I saw staff carrying to extra fans to his room. Next, walls are paper them. Staff stayed/lived above us. My teenage daughters woke up to them moaning, screaming, having sex at 1 am for an hour. We banged on the ceiling several times for them to stop. We could hear literally everything. Definitely not family friendly! Next, I sat in a kitchen chair and literally the seat flew off, it had no bolts. I'm only 136 so Definitely not too heavy. I fell and scraped my leg up. I also called before stay and asked if there was coffee/maker in the cabin so i could be prepared. The staff on the phone said yes. Well, there was not! I had to get up and drive 2 miles and spend$20 on coffees because they lied. Next half the clean towels had dark, curly hairs on them. Yuck. I'm blonde, so not ours. Thankfully we brought a few for the lake. Lastly, there were holes in every wall, floor was coming up everywhere, and a wood board was used to block the bathroom window for privacy. The grounds also had lots of dog poop and a broken table. It's so sad because this place has so much potential with just a few things added/repaired and better management. I am totally willing to pay am extra $40 a night for just a few upgrades, and better staff
Location
I've came to this place for the past four summers and always had a great experience. The person who I always dealt with would give me a deal on pet fee, but they don't anymore. If you stay for awhile it adds up to a lot.
Room was average and overpriced, considering the dated quality. Manager said they will be renovating in the near future. Fireplace is non-functional and contains a silly, plastic log insert with a flickering light. Entry door looks to have been smashed open with only rudimentary repairs.
My husband and I are not terribly picky travelers. This establishment had a 7.3 rating I believe. It should’ve been a 3.7 it makes us not want to trust your ratings at all! I took some pictures that I can send you if you wish
The manager/owner was a sweet person trying to make a property sustainable. It seems that he’s working with a very limited budget. We wish him all the luck. The property has a lot of potential.
We booked for two nights that were nonrefundable. We spent one night and left very very early in the morning because it was just not a place that we could stay any longer. We do not want our money back. We just want Expedia to be more accurate on their ratings!
Location, location, location.
It was a great location beautiful big cabins and fantastic price
We wanted mountain rustic, cozy, clean and walkable to a atore or restaurant. It had a great size kitchen to cook in or store our food until the next day. The owner, host was communicative and very welcoming. This is a motel i would stay at again.
Our stay at Sherwood Arms Motel was worthwhile! After our first night, we decided to stay another night and Syed (Front office) made it an easy transition for us! He ensured we were accommodated, comfortable, and pleased. We stayed in room 8 and 9 and can definitely say that it was better than a hotel (made it feel as if we were luxuriously camping). Close to Lake Arrowhead, convince store, gas station, diners, etc. Highly recommend and will be back :)
We enjoyed this quaint space just for two. The place was clean and the new manager, Syed, was most hospitable. He took a special effort in making sure we were well taken care of, and embraces his work with pride and joy. We will definitely come back!
It was in the forest very soothing and calm peaceful.
The stay was quiet and peace. The romantic suite room I love it. Was large and cozy. Syed gave the best friendly customer service had problems with the WiFi and he got it fixed asap. Will be coming back.
The bathroom was dirty, it was coffee on the machine (who knows since when) you could smell weed.
Very disappointed
The hotel is in downtown Running Springs and is very walkable. Most of the stores are closed except for the market. The floor of the hallway is cracked and could be a hazard cutting people's feet as we are asians and walk barefeet inside the room. The outside door handle is not latchable.
