The room itself was okay, breakfast was very minimal but not too bad. The location is far from all public transport, because SF being the way that it is, you need to walk MANY up-and-down hills from any of the bus stops to the hotel. The hotel had a strange musty smell I was in the room and corridoors, but we got a room freshener from the front desk to help a bit with that.
location is not the best, didn't feel the safest post sunset.

L'emplacement est super. Tout est faisable à pied et en transport en commun.

Nous avons pu avoir une chambre plus grande et entrer plus tôt.
Un hôtel est ancien et on entendait les passages dans le couloir. Mais au bout d'un moment, on ne fait plus attention.

Hay mucho ruido toda la noche, el desayuno demasiado básico y no tienen estacionamiento
Nuestra habitación estaba enmoquetada, lo que da sensación de poca higiene. La caja fuerte no funcionaba. En 5 días no limpiaron la habitación ni nos cambiaron las toallas. El desayuno era bastante escaso: huevos cocidos, plátano, manzana, pan y gofres. Y el café malísimo.
La habitación es enorme, tiene hasta vestidor dentro. La ubicación también es buena, está en el centro y tiene muchos autobuses cerca. El desayuno es básico pero a nosotros nos pareció suficiente, ponen algo de fruta, huevos, zumo, café, cereales, pan y waffles riquísimos. Si tuviera que elegir de nuevo un alojamiento volvería sin duda a este. Calidad-precio está muy bien.
La habitación huele un poco a encerrado, pero tras ventilarla un poco se va el olor. Es algo viejo pero nosotros nos sentimos cómodos.

Good, comfortable hotel. Excellent location, helpful staff. Clean and equipped for light microwaved meals. A light breakfast also adds to the value in an otherwise expensive city. No worries about safety, precautions always in SF.
The location is convenient to public transportation. The staff is friendly and helpful. The entire space is clean and comfortable. Having breakfast included is a nice plus. Each room is named for a site or attraction in San Francisco and each room has a simple mural to correspond.

Old world style hotel homely and fun which matches the cable car era. Generous self serve breakfast
The staff
There was an unpleasent smell on the corridors. The breakfast cannot be compared to a europe hotel breakfast. Oh and there was a small red, forest cockroach in the kitchen. The whole building feels like an old workers home.
The staff was exceptional, very helpful and always smiling.
Nothing to complain about, would highly recommend and will definitely use this Hotel again!
We arrived to the hotel early and was very happy to find that our rooms were all ready for us. We had 2 queen deluxe rooms that were clean and had very large closets to fit all our luggage and belongings. Despite our rooms being right by the elevators, we didn't hear them. The traffic noise during the day was normal for being in a busy city but at night it was actually pretty quiet.
The biggest disappointment was the lack of amenities for our deluxe rooms. We had a mini fridge, microwave and place setting for 2. There was no dish soap, dish rag or towel though. When we asked the front desk for that they said they don't have any and to just use the bar soap that is in the bathroom. Due to food restrictions 3/4 of my family can't eat the provided hotel breakfast so using the "kitchen" in our room was essential. We ended up buying our own supplies to wash the dishes in our room.
