A beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable, with mobile air conditioning to keep it cool in the very hot weather.
Unfortunately our bathroom was not great. The over the bath shower was faulty, with a broken, leaky plumbing and no bath mat was provided, rendering the bath very slippy.

Excellent breakfast & evening meal. The hotel is a beautiful building in a perfect location with wondeful views, well kept gardens, pleasant and varied dining areas. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed informal and welcoming.
Beyond the general good atmosphere and look of the Maynard, the waitress for breakfast was most pleasant and attentive and who doesn't need a bit of care at that time of the day :)
Lovely building that has not been subjected to de-characterisation through unnecessary modernisation. Food was exceptional. Staff friendly, attentive and professional. Gardens were well kept and lots of seating. Private onsite parking plentiful.
We found the pillows a little too soft for us but such a minor thing. Unusually the B&B option only offered one item from the menu rather than a continental and hot option. However it was very good quality and cooked to perfection.

Breakfast was great, excellent ingredients. Evening dinner was also very good. Good service.
The room didn’t meet expectations, much smaller than appeared on the website and overlooking the car park. Too warm, though obviously can’t be helped - but the light above the bathroom door was on all night which kept us awake, especially with the heat. Looked all over for a light switch to no avail but as the hotel is unmanned then no one to ask. Turned out there’s a control in a draw!
The Maynard was very comfortable and friendly hotel perfectly located for our needs. The rooms were clean and comfortable.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent and served an exceptional breakfast.
