Gorgeous views, lovely atmosphere, staff were very helpful and incredible food!
The shower wasn’t the best, either very hot or very cold no in between but was only there for one night and didn’t ruin our stay in the slightest!
Amazing place, great food
Everything was perfet
Nice rooms big bathroom lovely hotel very clean
Walls must be paper-thin as I could hear every noise from the other guests which was very annoying that's why I asked to move rooms
Everthing: location, atmosphere, room (spacy and modern!) and the pub downstairs.
Location is stunning, the food first class and the building full of history and charm
No elevator and no ground floor rooms, so not good for people with a mobility challenge
Great hotel , professional , attentive staff.
Well equipped room
Nice bar & restaurant
Sunday lunch was excellent
Pillows were a bit soft but a personal preference.
Noise from kitchen pipework directly outside our window (Barnett room) but did stop at 10 pm so didn’t impact our stay too much
Brilliant location 5 minutes from the Longshaw Estate
Beautiful spacious room (junior suite) huge bed and large windows with stunning views of the valley.
Luxurious large freestanding bath perfect for 2
Delicious breakfast with quality local produce.
Birthday gift and note.
Lots of choice of both food and drinks in the restaurant.
Tasty and generous Sunday dinner.
Service was a little slow at breakfast. Hotel guests should get a glass of orange juice and a hot drink at breakfast.
Stunning building. Welcoming. Friendly. Too class food both evening meal and breakfast
Fabulous location to walk pasley gorge
This is a wonderful gem of a Hotel, delightfully situated and well placed for travel by car to the likes of Bakewell, Castleton and Chatsworth. The hotel has a friendly atmosphere. It can be quiet, but it has busy times as it is popular with Hikers.
We wanted a relaxing break, and we came away well-rested. The hotel is very clean and well presented. All the staff are amazing, polite, considerate and easy to talk with.
The food was delicious, well prepared and presented. We stayed for 4 nights and ate in every evening. The Lamb Shank has 5 stars from my husband. who had this on two consecutive nights. I can highly recommend the Goat's Cheese Parcel salad, Chicken Supreme and Cod. We had breakfast included in our room rate, and again the food was excellent. There is a good selection of options, and we choose our own combination of the items on offer.
We stayed in the Sir Don Bradman Suite, which did not disappoint. The view from this room and the Emperor bed are just amazing. Have already booked to return for both stays and special occasions in the restaurant.
Staff work as a team whether on front desk or kitchen/restaurant they worked and supported each other so very efficient with a customer/guest experience focus. Friendly, hardworking staff well run and efficient. Very helpful which made the hotel stay very enjoyable.
All very good.
Lovely spacious rooms, very clean. Bar and restaurant very welcoming. Staff very attentive particularly the manager on duty while we where there
Nothing
We came to The Maynard to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our room was lovely, but overlooked the car park. As this was a special anniversary my husband asked if there was a possibility of a room change. The staff, particularly Carla, were extremely helpful and moved us to a more spacious room with a beautiful view. The evening meal was delicious, with plenty of vegetarian options which were carefully thought out. The Maynard is a friendly and has lots of individual touches. All staff were friendly, well turned out and professional. They were knowledgeable about the drinks and food they served. Would highly recommend for a country stay with a warm welcome surrounded by beautiful scenery.
