Gorgeous views, lovely atmosphere, staff were very helpful and incredible food!

Cons:

The shower wasn’t the best, either very hot or very cold no in between but was only there for one night and didn’t ruin our stay in the slightest!

Wonderful Gem of a Hotel
Pros:

This is a wonderful gem of a Hotel, delightfully situated and well placed for travel by car to the likes of Bakewell, Castleton and Chatsworth. The hotel has a friendly atmosphere. It can be quiet, but it has busy times as it is popular with Hikers.
We wanted a relaxing break, and we came away well-rested. The hotel is very clean and well presented. All the staff are amazing, polite, considerate and easy to talk with.
The food was delicious, well prepared and presented. We stayed for 4 nights and ate in every evening. The Lamb Shank has 5 stars from my husband. who had this on two consecutive nights. I can highly recommend the Goat's Cheese Parcel salad, Chicken Supreme and Cod. We had breakfast included in our room rate, and again the food was excellent. There is a good selection of options, and we choose our own combination of the items on offer.
We stayed in the Sir Don Bradman Suite, which did not disappoint. The view from this room and the Emperor bed are just amazing. Have already booked to return for both stays and special occasions in the restaurant.

A Special Country Break
Pros:

We came to The Maynard to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our room was lovely, but overlooked the car park. As this was a special anniversary my husband asked if there was a possibility of a room change. The staff, particularly Carla, were extremely helpful and moved us to a more spacious room with a beautiful view. The evening meal was delicious, with plenty of vegetarian options which were carefully thought out. The Maynard is a friendly and has lots of individual touches. All staff were friendly, well turned out and professional. They were knowledgeable about the drinks and food they served. Would highly recommend for a country stay with a warm welcome surrounded by beautiful scenery.
