Hotel La Croix De Vernuche

The location was excellent as it was very close to our route and yet the place was very calm and quiet. The staff was more than warm and welcoming. We received all the service we asked for and more. The breakfast was a really nice, typical French breakfast. The pool was perfect.

Everything and that was a surprise as I did not plan to stop in Nevers while I was on my way back from holidays to Paris... Exceptional welcome first, being a great traveller, I really appreciated it. Property is wonderful, so close from the motorway and from the town, old charm property maintained remarkably both inside and outside with patio, garden and swimming pool ! The most striking was the overall cleanliness (some 5 stars could learn from them honestly). Angèle and Sophie were as super professional as super friendly, accommodating everything with a bouquet of smiles and even going the extra-mile, anticipating, etc. You appreciate that when you are used to travel :-) As a summary, it was one of the best experience as a custumer and such lovely unexpected surprise.... If you want something charming, very French and a property with character, go for it ! Swimming pool super clean and protected.from eyes, parking, and ... (/ost important !) breaksfast super French, super yummy :-) Thanks a lot for everything and good luck to you !

Characterful family run hotel with lovely views across the countryside. Ample traditional breakfast.

We have stayed here a few times now, the hotel is a perfect half way stop for our journey South.

Nice location fully surrounded by great nature

Exceptional host, we have never been made so welcome - especially in France!
They rang on the day of our stay to ask if they could make a booking in a local restaurant as they currently don't have one.
Upon arrival we felt like we had arrived at a friend's home, shown a room asked if we were happy with, shown the pool and generally shown around this beautiful chateau.
After a good night sleep we had a lovely breakfast and wished all the best for our onward journey, just as a friend would do.

Breakfast was excellent and taken on the terrace. The owner and staff were so helpful and could not be faulted. We both regreted that we had only booked for one night.
Dinner had been booked for us at a local restaurant - we were delighted with the food and the location.

Fantastic welcoming staff and superb breakfast. Great location just off motorway, yet totally silent. Beautiful views from th e bedroom. This is a real jewel - small hotel with a friendly family vibe. Their recommendation for the restaurant they booked for us was just great. We've never had better value for money at a hotel in France. We shall definitely return.

Fortunately for us the owner of the property was there, he can communicate in English. He went out of the way to help us and make us comfortable. He along with his colleague Angelica treated us like their own.

The room was like an apartment with stairs to go on top. The apartment has a kitchen, bedroom, big bathroom and living room. If you observe everything including the paint, artifacts and furniture are chosen to go with a theme. Everything has been kept with lot of emotions and love. It can be felt...

The owner will come twice a day to ensure we are Good and not facing any issue. He was very kind to ensure we are taken care during the entire time of stay. He had to leave for his home a day earlier to our departure but he ensured the staff takes care of us till the time we leave.

They ensured we enjoyed our stay at Nevers. They arranged taxi, made reservations for us at the local French cuisine. They also guided us to nearby grocery. We bought groceries for us and cooked at the apartment kitchen. The utensils were cleaned and kept in an organized manner.

Our objective was to spend good time in France country side and trust we could enjoy each seconds of our stay. We went to local vi eyard at Saucere.

It was very emotional for me to leave the place may be because we did lot of things that we planned. Vacation is all about spending quality time with family and we could achieve thanks to the host and his team.

Out of the entire trip I belive the days we spent at Never was best....
