Beautiful setting and great service. The lack of air conditioning was a nearly unbearable night at 38 degrees in the room. The pool was a great extra, but be careful in a heat wave.
The location was excellent, the terrace out the back was lovely and we had a reasonable breakfast at the time we asked for and the pool was very nice. However, we arrived just after 4pm, the lady was there to meet us but spoke hardly any English (I speak very little French so not her fault) but we had to speak through Google translate on the phone.. we got there in the end and we found our rooms which were spacious and clean. The rooms were incredibly hot (it was during the heatwave so temps of 36 not usual I understand) and the rooms had a fan but didn't make for a comfortable sleep. The strangest thing was that when we came down just after 6pm to take advantage of the bar which the hotel had said would be available from 6 - 10 there was not a single staff member on site... so we couldn't get a cold drink or a coffee and it was just a very weird feeling to know that all guests had been left on site by themselves. I haven't travelled widely across France before so this may be a normal scenario but we weren't expecting it and so we weren't sure what to do or where we could go.. also no tea/coffee facilities in the room which again after travelling for 6 hours was a bit of an issue and staff didn't arrive until 20 mins before our requested breakfast time so again no access to tea or coffee before 7am.
Staff shouldn't leave guests unattended all evening, welcome card said there would be a small bar - there was not. No tea and coffee facilities in the room or anywhere else on the property.

The location was excellent as it was very close to our route and yet the place was very calm and quiet. The staff was more than warm and welcoming. We received all the service we asked for and more. The breakfast was a really nice, typical French breakfast. The pool was perfect.
The room was hot and it wasn't possible to make it fully dark for the night. It would have been great to have shutters to keep the heat and the light outside.
