Pros:

This hotel was very clean and welcoming. The rooms were high tech, which I was not expecting. The architect who has purchased and renovated the building did it with intention and care. Highly recommend this location for a stay when visiting Greenbrier

Wonderful place but maybe request a quieter room if available

I can only speak from our experience in room 110. From the time we walked into the hotel, we were very impressed. Architecture, design, aesthetics, cleanliness, amenities, staff. All very impressive. The room was wonderful for the most part. Clean, nice furniture, very comfy bed and clean sheets and comforter. Impressive lighting but no lamp. Bathroom was cool with the fancy toilet and all. Everything was awesome.

Cons:

Then we noticed how thin the walls and ceiling were. You can hear everything in the connecting room next door. Entire convos, phone ringing, even bed squeaking. Uncomfortably thin. Luckily, the other guests understood the situation and we all mutually kept the noise at a respectful level. We never thought to complain as this place was just too nice and we still felt it was worth the wonderful price we got for the weekend.

The Schoolhouse is outstanding, being clean, new, and good value.
Pros:

The Schoolhouse is outstanding, very central, clean and modern, with kind management and staff (one of them gave me a lift to the Amtrak station). As part of a former school, my room had a huge window and generous height. The rooms are fully automated, so suitable for guests with special needs. I would certainly stay again.

Cons:

There are some good food choices, but I would have liked more (and more conventional) choices for breakfast, including cereals as well as omelettes.

Great concept in the heart of the town

Cons:

When we arrived our door would not lock- the front desk was going to have Maint drive an hour - we suggested changing rooms so he didn’t have to come on day off. Next morning he was banging on broken lock at 7:30am while we tried to sleep - a little courtesy would have gone a long way. Frustrating

Poor experience with the people that work there. Clean building inside and out.

No water or snacks available. Waitress in the morning was rude and I had to actually go into the kitchen after 15 minutes to see where were the servers. She was talking to another person and said she was busy folding napkins. I said there's 6 couples sitting there and waiting for service. She finally came out and intentionally filled both my wife's and my water glasses to the top. We would spill them if we picked them up to drink. We walked out in disgust. Not a good visit for us. Wouldn't go back and advise others not to go there. No way to contact the front desk also.
