Pros:

Helpful staff, excellent food at reasonable prices, comfortable room. Hotel right on the main shopping street with easy access to good quality shops but not noisy at night.

Cons:

Wifi was weak. Parking was free, but a bit confusing with pay and display for non-residents.

It was cosy and comfortable. A great location. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

There were no sockets near a mirror for drying hair, infact only sockets were behind the TV which was awkward.
The toiletries could do with being a bit nicer as it was just generic liquid in a dispenser for everything.

A lovely autumn break.
Pros:

Central location to where we wanted to be. Friendly staff, with a warm Yorkshire welcome.
Excellent food at breakfast and in the restaurant.

Cons:

Difficult to get a good constant temperature in the shower.

It was very enjoyable. I'd certainly stay at the hotel again.
Pros:

The room was beautifully quiet The facilities were good on the whole( see below)
Lunch was very tasty and breakfast was perfectly adequate
The dinner for the 609 squadron I was attending at the hotel was absolutely excellent. The room was perfect and the staff exceptional.

Cons:

The wifi was very problematic. At times it would not log me in. It kept saying the password I'd used was iincorrect even though I knew it was the right one( I'd checked it very carefully).
When I tried to hang my dress in the wardrobe the whole of the rail collasped which gave me a bit of a shock. I told them at the desk downstairs but they didn't offer to do anything about it.

Disaster.
Pros:

I’m from Northallerton so know the place well. The golden lion is always our first choice when returning to the town. It’s local and convenient

Cons:

It needs a refurb and following our recent visit it will probably be getting one!! I decided to have a bath on our last morning and flooded our room the rooms below and the restaurant the tap flew off and the hot water came out like a geyser!! Ended up having to leave earlier than expected as we had to vacate the room as it was of no use to us!!

Very good hotel and excellent staff, excellent location, a bit noisy from front of the hotel.
Pros:

Staff were very good and polite. Breakfast was excellent. Bar and band played on Sunday night were very good. The room was nice and well kept. Hotel itself in very nice.parking is very good in the large car park at the rear of the hotel.

Cons:

Unfortunately we were not aware that the hotel stopped serving food around 4ish on a Sunday afternoon so we couldn’t obtain an evening meal, didn’t know about this when booking.
The room although very nice was at the front of the hotel and noisy especially around 4am in the morning when a delivery lorry was unloading opposite the hotel, the driver was unloading / loading plastic crates just throwing them on and off the truck. Rooms could do with secondary glazing. Couplands driver needs better training.
