Pros:

The ONLY problem for us now is the lack of a lift. Everything else is excellent. Staff, Rooms, food. However, we have always been on the first floor, so not too many steep steps. There aren't any ground floor bedrooms unfortunately.

A substantial Hotel right on the High St , good central location, friendly and helpful staff.
Pros:

The location straight on the high street was brilliant for exploring Northallerton. The rooms were period but brought up to modern standards. Staff at reception were very helpful and accommodating.

Cons:

Unfortunately the Hotel was full and we were in a room as far as you could go from reception. This involved a number of staircases and landings to negotiate, which for anyone with stair climbing issues would be a challenge especially with luggage in hand. Although it was a lovely building nicely kept and plenty of Character , I would have hoped the price I paid to have included Breakfast. Finding the rear entrance on the road at the rear of the Hotel, to access the car park is difficult. A sign at the roadside would help. There is a pay meter which is refundable at reception however this isn't too clear.
