Everything was mediocre , did not worth the price.
The breakfast was excellent and the service was also very good.
The parking situation was not made clear prior to arrival.
The rooms were spotless, the bar and dining area also.
The grounds and the view were excellent
A bit put off initially by the shrouding around the entrance, but understand work was being done.
The room was comfortable and well appointed. The views over parkland to the river was were exceptional. Breakfast very good and the staff most helpful. Again the views a delight.

The rural location on the bank of the Thames with river view was amazing
I stayed on a weekend when the restaurant was closed and the food choice was a little limited. The quality of the food was very good though
How lovely and peaceful it was and the breakfast
Was fantastic.
Nothing to dislike
It was in a great location and was clean
It looked a bit dated
Staff at breakfast were friendly.
We arrrived on a Friday evening. After we checked in they casually told us the restaurant was closed. Very annoying - they could really have sent a message/email in advance. There is nothing directly around the hotel in terms of restaurants, so means a drive and of course no nice bottle of wine with dinner. I've never stayed at a hotel that has not contacted me if there is an issue with the restaurant. Besides the lack of restuarant, the place was generally soulless - it is very much a conference venue. To be aware, the rooms are in modern blocks away from the main building. Conclusion, there certainly seem to be better options in the area at the same or lower price.
Breakfast and brasserie food very good. Staff excellent. Last minute request to swap double room to twin was granted, helping us out a lot. Stunning location and grounds.
The bedroom (Lodden, ground floor) was unfortunately stiflingly hot throughout. Even with windows open on the second night (cooler outside) it was impossible to reduce the stuffiness. The two fans in the room were a welcome touch but still only moved the hot air around. I know there had been a heatwave so it’s probably a rare problem (and not really the hotel’s fault) and the water chiller on the foyer was also a welcome touch. Aircon would have been a godsend!
