Location idyllic.
Stayed several times and can always give 10 score but on this occasion the hotel fell down badly regarding ventilation. No air conditioning and fans supplied of very little use, in this unprecedented sustained heatwave surely hiring portable units should have been the practical option to at least ensure a reasonable nights sleep.
We like the grounds, and its quirky nature. Good location to get an uber into Henley (£5), although in peak time, getting an Uber back was £24! Walkable if you have 45mins and a nice walk through grounds and along river for a bit. All staff were polite and friendly.
The system for ordering snacks outside of restaurant hours was cumbersome. The staff taking the orders on the desk were great, but if the hotel was busy, this could become a bottle neck.
No air-con and we stayed in the heat wave. Just managed with the fans!
The place felt a little tired, but grounds were lovely and having breakfast outside in the morning sun with the rowing teams practicing on the river was nice.
Our room was in a separate block, which was only a short walk from the main building, but if it was raining this would have been annoying.
Views , the grounds and breakfast were all lovely
Being in a separate building to main hotel, and no air conditioning
Friendly staff. Beautiful setting. Fantastic breakfast.
Everything was great. Two issues. The restaurant was closed on the night we stayed as they had no bookings but you could still get food. We basically ordered fish and chips. When the meals came out the chips and the peas were dry, probably due to reheating? Anyway, we complained and they immediately sorted it with a smile. So, although there was an issue, it was very quickly resolved.
There was also a problem with the plumbing in our room - very low pressure.
Great breakfast, lovely helpful welcoming staff, fabulous location. Evening food better.
Beautiful venue in a fantastic location on the river Thames. The accommodation is modern and really impressive and the food was lovely and served by really friendly staff.
Would have appreciated air conditioning as it was quite stuffy in our room during the extremely hot weather.
The property is on the river, very picturesque and with large grounds to walk in.
The property appears to have been built before air conditioning became a necessity in the summer months, therefore, the rooms were very hot during the week that saw high temperatures (clearly more than one nowadays). Fans were provided that helped.
Beautiful location. Nice rooms and an amazing breakfast served on the patio!
Fantastic magical place with wonderful staff
It was close to the Regatta, and it had wonderful views!
All was good!
Breakfast was superb . Location very good. Ground excellent,
I was there for the Henley Festival, so a handy location which was not too far from the event.
The rooms do not have air conditioning.
Everything, the rooms were beautiful, location fantastic and breakfast lovely
