It was in a great location and was clean
It looked a bit dated
Staff at breakfast were friendly.
We arrrived on a Friday evening. After we checked in they casually told us the restaurant was closed. Very annoying - they could really have sent a message/email in advance. There is nothing directly around the hotel in terms of restaurants, so means a drive and of course no nice bottle of wine with dinner. I've never stayed at a hotel that has not contacted me if there is an issue with the restaurant. Besides the lack of restuarant, the place was generally soulless - it is very much a conference venue. To be aware, the rooms are in modern blocks away from the main building. Conclusion, there certainly seem to be better options in the area at the same or lower price.
Excellent location, big well equipped room.
Air conditioning needed in the room.
Lacking restaurant for the evening meal.
Mattress in the room could have been more comfortable
Although a B&B, a small fridge would have been quite useful
Excellent with a great view of beautiful lawns and the river.
Water pressure in my room was very low. I reported this to reception.
We have been before. Fab location and good breakfast too!
Shame breakfast was served in a room with no view but think that was due to a wedding.
Breakfast and brasserie food very good. Staff excellent. Last minute request to swap double room to twin was granted, helping us out a lot. Stunning location and grounds.
The bedroom (Lodden, ground floor) was unfortunately stiflingly hot throughout. Even with windows open on the second night (cooler outside) it was impossible to reduce the stuffiness. The two fans in the room were a welcome touch but still only moved the hot air around. I know there had been a heatwave so it’s probably a rare problem (and not really the hotel’s fault) and the water chiller on the foyer was also a welcome touch. Aircon would have been a godsend!
Breakfast was a good selection of buffet and the quality of items was good but maybe not fantastic (buffet does tend to leave the food a bit tired).
As above, the buffet was a bit tired-looking. The pastries ditto. But for me, a glutton, the quantity was great!
Super breakfast
Vacating room requirement later than 9am on departure day
The parking was easy, the staff were very helpful and polite the cleanliness was exceptional, thank you
