We received a good welcome and our bags were carried to our room.
The breakfast was more than adequate and of an excellent quality,
The location of the hotel suited our requirements for the stay.
The Hotel needs upgrading in most respects. However the room was large ,had everything we needed and everything worked. The hotel is the only one in the village and is a short distance from the M4, so there is certainly potential for reviving its fortunes in the future. The size of the Hotel and its car park, and it's position opposite the village church could also provide opportunities for functions.
Room was very big and bed was comfortable. . Owner was very friendly.
Poor water pressure to the point that the shower was unusable.
Beautiful old building but needed a fair amount of renovation
Clean property and friendly honest/ open & welcoming host.
Shower/ bath facilities were not great in the room. However to be fair this was not something I flagged due to being tight on time.
It was very convenient for my volunteer 2 days at Dauntsey horse trials few miles away at Great Somerford. Lovely village, plenty of parking, quirky as a listed building so not what you would expect from a modern building.
Excellent bed linen and towels, bed comfortable and standard facilities in the room.
Excellent breakfast I really enjoyed. Very professional staff.
Was not too keen on my room facing the road, although quiet road there were occasional cars passing through the night.
Friendly helpful owner. Very close M4 which was what I was after. Good size modern comfortable room with good size bathroom with bath.
Nothing
The location is great and within good access to Bath and the Wiltshire countryside including ancient monuments and other places of interest. Sutton Benger is very quiet and so this meant a good peaceful nights sleep. The Bell is on a through road so very easy to find with a big car park. crisp white linen and towels and comfortable pillows . very clean and cosy.
I had to leave before breakfast, but the room, bed and shower were excellent.
The location is very good and the manager was very helpful. The facilities were basic and the place had a rather forlorn air but I have no complaints
Having the bar open in the evening would have been helpful but I understood why it was not. I sincerely hope that things improve.
Very comfortable and spacious room. Plenty of storage, nice comfortable bed.
Wifi was very slow
The breakfast was without a doubt THE BEST we have ever had in any of the several hundred hotels
In which we have stayed.
Nothing.
Great location cool in the heat friendly staff.

It's a little bit like stepping back into the 60s or maybe the 50s but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's in a bit of a time warp with furnishings my gran would have envied - but what do you want from an hotel? My room was large with dual aspect windows, one looking directly on to the local church. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the water hot and the proprietor friendly and helpful - and the breakfast at £11 was excellent. My first exposure to coffee bags. They make a half-decent cup of coffee - better than the usual hotel breakfast coffee where, in a blind tasting, you'd be hard to know it was over-brewed tea, brown Windsor soup or diluted gravy. Yeah - a pleasant stay.
It did exactly what i wanted it to - provide me with a comfortable night
Well located
A little dated in places
fab find my room was tidy, the bed comfy and the bath lovely
it would have been nice if the restaurant was still open
A lovely old inn. Meandering corridors. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. I was only there for one night, but it was absolutely fine. Ample off-road parking.
Not much, really. Yes, bedside lamps/lights would be nice. But I appreciate the age of the premises, so reading in bed and having to get up to turn the light off wasn't exactly a hardship. Same with plugging in the kettle. Not beyond the whit of woman to find a nearby socket. If you've grown up with everything at your fingertips, this may not be the place for you. I didn't mind.
