Vila Planinka is a really special place. It’s set on the edge of the alpine meadows at Jezersko, with amazing views up to the peaks of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps.
Our room was very comfortable, with a good en-suite and a small balcony. The food is excellent – we had a delicious tasting menu one night, and on our second night they sent us to dinner at a local farm, which turned out to be a brilliant recommendation.
The team are helpful and kind. Special mention to Marco and also to Vikas on the front desk, who talked us through everything there is to do locally. We followed his advice and had some great walks. There are many good routes into the mountains from here, including the one up to the famous Češka koča, the Czech hut.
It’s only about an hour from Ljubljana airport, but it puts you straight into the mountains, and it’s wonderfully peaceful. A very good place to begin a holiday in Slovenia.

Place, proposed activities ( wine tasting and massage) , welcome, availability and attention from people at the reception.
We asked for a “ surprised” diner in 5 courses. Perhaps we shouldn’t have gone, as we were disappointed…and kids were left wanting more ! Service was very slow- far too slow. The food was good, but as foodies ( and French people) we were expecting a real “ surprise” and not just a Cesar salad … maybe next time we will choose differently!

[ ] Solo poche persone del personale si sono rivelate adeguate. Abbiamo notato poi una generale disorganizzazione tra lo staff e servizi non adeguati a un 5 stelle. Per esempio al nostro arrivo ci è stato domandato se volevamo una bevanda di benvenuto, abbiamo ordinato due cappuccini e, dopo 15 minuti di attesa, abbiamo chiesto dov'erano le nostre bevande. La receptionist ci ha risposto che al momento non c'era il personale per quel servizio, ma allora perché non ce l'ha riferito subito appena ce lo aveva proposto?!

This was our second stay at Vila Planinka, and returning felt less like visiting a hotel and more like coming back to family. The warmth, kindness and personal attention of the entire team made our stay truly special.
One memorable example was a cake we particularly enjoyed. The staff kindly prepared it for us again, and the chef who made it even came to explain the recipe personally to my wife. They then refused to accept any payment for it. This thoughtful gesture perfectly reflects the genuine hospitality we experienced throughout our stay.
Vila Planinka is not simply a beautiful boutique hotel; it is a place where guests are treated with sincere care and generosity. That is why we returned, and it is why we hope to return again.

Wszystko nam się podobało. Bardzo kameralna atmosfera, wspaniały design z dbałością o szczegóły. Bardzo dobre śniadania, warte spróbowania w restauracji tasting menu. Przemiły, pomocny i kompetentny personel. Położenie w malowniczej okolicy, wiele tras spacerowych i rowerowych. Bardzo chętnie tam wrócimy.
