The room was clean and had a newish bathroom.Good water pressure from the shower. Single bed very firm and narrow.
Bar/restaurant staff friendly and helpful.Food very pleasant.
We were kept waiting 13 minutes when we checked in as the manager was on the phone. Two other people were waiting behind us who were also kept waiting.
The requested payment figure was too high and not the agreed booked price but eventually this was amended to the correct amount .
Disappointing service from the check-in person.
Staff were very helpful and polite
Food was VG. Great value for money
On entering the property there was a very strong odour . It wasn’t there the next day so it wasn’t dirty. Couldn’t put my finger on what the the smell was.
Just really friendly and nice atmosphere
Location for visiting family
Again, the room smelt like sewage for one night. The heating also wasn’t on so we were freezing in the morning and last thing at night.
After a shaky start with the room, it was pleasant and comfortable. The first room had a very strong smell of drains. We asked to be moved and were accommodated.
Inflexibility of breakfast. It was either a continental breakfast for £7.99 which was very generous, consisting of cereal, croissant, muffin, yoghurt, fresh fruit, and toast. It could have fed two people. The other option was just a hot breakfast with no flexibility of adding any of the continental options with it, unless you paid the £7.99 on top. On the second morning there was limited availability of the juice, which was serve yourself.
I was unable to use my blue light card for discount on the food (I had phoned prior to our stay and was told I could use it for breakfast). I was told that, due to the fact that the food had been added to our room bill, rather than paying at the table, they couldn't apply the discount. I had booked 3 rooms for the first night and two rooms for the second so the bill wasn't insignificant, although one person didn't have breakfast.
I called customer services on our return, and apparently, you have to tell them when making the booking if you want to use a blue light card or any other discount method.
The atmosphere was great and also the food. Very friendly staff
Pillows gave me a bad neck, The room was too hot The radiator was on high all night unable to adjust
Enjoyed a lovely evening meal which arrived promptly
Breakfast wasn’t available until 8:00 and no other options were offered or possible
Generally it was good accommodation
I felt the meal pricing especially breakfast was more than appropriate even a continental breakfast was restricted where I would normally expect access to cereal and bread/toast and toppings for the one fee
