Good value for money. Comfortable, helpful staff.
Pros:

Friendly helpful staff.
The special deal on the main course, 40% off was amazing as was a complimentary drink.

Cons:

The menu was a little limited, but the food was fine, good pub meals.
Breakfast and Eggs Benedict was on the menu, which was good to see, but sadly both egg yokes were hard. It would have been nice to be offered toast with marmalade or jam after.
The bedroom, Room 1, was well appointed, lovely soft pillows, perfect large fluffy towels, but a couple of feedback comments:
I like a firm mattress, but this was very firm indeed.
The tiny milks are so small you need two for one cup, so with two of you you can only have one cup of coffee. A handful more would be appreciated.
The carpet was quite stained as was the bathroom floor which detracts from the quality of the room.

The staff were friendly and helpful, of note an older man who went out of his way to be helpful. Much appreciated.

Attend to the little things and it would be a good place to come back to.
Pros:

It’s a trad pub come hostelry. The pub atmosphere is heartening and the sleeping areas are well segregated by time locked doors. Breakfast was timely and wholesome. I had an inclusive rate

Cons:

Bedroom facilities. No clothes storage other than hangers. And the shelf above the hangers. Which hadn’t been dusted Which is just sloppy housekeeping management. Some one doesn’t care enough to check the staff are doing their jobs.

And one final point. The bed was made in a mist peculiar way. Like two ¾ width sheets started from either side and overlapped. I took a pic because it was so bizarre. Can’t they afford a full size double bed sheet! ?
Lovely hare cushions. But would have preferred a clean room.
