It was a pleasure staying here. Vish and Prasana made our stay very comfortable! We were celebrating our honeymoon and they made a romantic setting in the room for us which was a nice touch. Breakfast was great every day with different options and they were flexible with the time. The rooms were very clean and spacious. It's a short walk through the villa grounds to the private beach which ls great to relax with your partner or family, also a short drive to the more busy beaches so it was perfect to have option of both.
In the smaller villa It would be great to have a bigger fridge, so we can store more cold water.

The photos don't do this place justice, I fell completely in love. The second I walked in and saw the views I was awestruck by the magnificent views, we stayed in Sri Lanka for a month and we spent most of our trip at Villa Vista. The crew became like family ♥️ Special thanks to Vish, Promod, Parsanna and Asha.

Breakfast was ok, but we had to give them extra money for it. It wasn't included in the price of the room, which is again very bizarre in Sri Lanka. This is probably the only experience which was more or less ok.
The property was not cleaned properly, furniture were falling apart, the swimming pool was dirty. We had booked for 2 nights and we ended staying for one night only. We left the second day. I would never recommend anyone to stay at villa vista. It is badly maintained and our stay was not enjoyable at all. A complete rip off taking into account the price we paid for 2 nights.
When looking for a hotel to celebrate Valentine’s Day, the photographs from Mirrissa Villa Vista were very impressive. For a special day, spending $250 on a room for one night was supposed to be a treat.
However, we left feeling misled and extorted.
The room had not been maintained well. There was a one minute supply of hot water, the shower handle was broken and there was a large cockroach scuttling around the bathroom.
As a warning to potential customers they should know that there is no restaurant or even a reception. The beautiful views of the ocean can’t be seen from the one bedroom villa.
If you’re planning to eat while there then you need to provide the staff with cash for groceries and tell them what you want for dinner. We gave them $70 and asked for lobster with a salad, garlic butter sauce and some homemade chips.
We got two jumbo prawns, some watermelon with a leaf of lettuce and a cold pot of dry bland mashed potato. Clearly the chef had never heard of a salad before.
Nonetheless we endeavoured to enjoy our stay despite a feeling of being ripped off.
In the morning, after conversing, we decided we would talk to the manager about our complaints. We said to him that we didn’t feel it was worth $250. He told us that it was nothing to do with him and asked us to contact the sales team in Colombo. We messaged them our complaints and said we thought $150 would be a more reasonable price.
We said we would be happy to pay full price but we will be leaving a bad review. Their response was to accuse us of threatening them. This seemed very passive aggressive and unsettling. So we paid the full price and left feeling bitterly disappointed.
Later that day we got a call from the manager saying we had underpaid him by $14 which was utterly baffling and insulting. He had counted the money in front of us at the time and said it was all good before we left.

these are the only things that need to improve and I believe it is easily can be done:
-although the staff are very nice and helpful, they need a bit more training to enhance their hospitality skills
-need to keep more attention on the pool cleanliness ( I don’t blame them as you will get the feel that you are in the middle of the jungle :) so it is normal to see many insects in the pool)
-Need to isolate the kitchen from the main room corridor to prevent the cooking smell to get in to the main room
