Nice small hotel very comfortable.
Italian's hotel, so Italians dominate. Animators also focus on the Italians people.
Rooms are clean. The buffet is not fancy but very tasty.
I highly recommended "Beach Boys" on the beach - Fagottino ( +254 712 575 678) he organize great trips much cheeper than in hotel. We are very happy thet we were able to explore the area outside the hotel, and Safari Tsavo with him.
Kudos to Ester who was very helpful both on whatsapp before getting to the house and during our stay. The location is past Fortamu and Papa Remo and the house has access to the beach through a tiny passage - but without all the beach boys. It was surprinsignly quiet no noise from the road nor from other houses. Twiga House has wifi and a back up generator. Rooms are quite spacious, have AC and ensuite but the extra beds are quite small so we wouldn't recommend an adult sleeps on them (though they have mosquito nets).
Management could have done better in selecting the chef and house staff who were not trained for managing a single house with 8 people. They needed a lot of direction, especially with food (quantities, recipes, shopping, setting the table, etc). The AC is very loud and the mattresses could be repurchased.
Small resort with a small swimming pool but a beautiful private beach with palm trees. Well located for reaching the natural pools that form at low tide. The entertainment team does its job well without being annoying. Excellent starting point for safaris to Tsavo East and West; we did it with Albert and were satisfied. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful even without tips. The food at the restaurant was well cooked, the chefs were good, especially Andrew. They were good at cooking with what they had available, but snapper, grouper and barracuda were the only fish they could offer us and cook. I would have liked a greater variety of fish in a seaside location. The waiting staff were very professional, always smiling and helpful, Sabina definitely the best. The rooms need some maintenance. The beds are comfortable and the air conditioning works well, is not noisy and has a pleasant flow. The reception service could be more empathetic and helpful. They tend not to intervene unless you are decisive and persuasive. Overall, a good resort for a not too demanding clientele and at a price appropriate to the service it offers.
Beach front
I came home to Kenya and experienced discrimination.
Placed near staff quarters.
Toilet never worked.
The AC wasn’t working as well.
No reception phones in the rooms.
Ignored while others were prioritized.
Couldn’t charge our phones—only Italian chargers, no Kenyan ones.
Forced to walk from the gate for using an outside taxi when the gate is 1.5kms away.
Good was mediocre and only catered to Italians.
The reception staff and security did not listen to our grievances.
Same price.
Different treatment.
Don’t let the photos fool you.
Very good hotel with friendly animators and kind staff. Food was excelent, I liked local food, clean restaurant, and very clean pool with sea water. Every evening took place evening program in amfitheater or lobby bar. We spent in the hotel very nice time.
Hotel is located very far from city center. There is construction going on next door for another building and the workers were noisy even at night. The sea at the beach is shallow and swimming opportunities are therefore limited.
Beliggenheten
The stay was lovely and the house was spacious for 2 families
Everything in the villa is absolutely amazing
Amazing location on the beach and facility was wonderful
Construction going on, but not too bad 😎
If you’re not Italian, you don’t feel welcome, all communication is in Italy.
They have strange policies for guests arranging their own activities and not allowing taxis to drop the guests next to lobby. We had to walk from the gate to lobby ( more than 1km ) with heavy bags.
Every other day , there was no water in the toilets to flash.
Lots of Cockroaches in the rooms.
Around pool area, there was no service from bars and staff didn’t bother to collect glasses or mugs. Those could stay more than a day before collecting.
Overall : this hotel is suffering of mismanagement.
Pasta sempre ottima!!
