Good views, but a run down property, over priced

This is an amazing property with incredible views and incredibly friendly staff. A must stay in my opinion if you stay around Kintamani.

My mom had a knee injury and wasn't able to walk without crutches or wheelchair. The staff went all above and beyond to accommodate her and ensure she was OK. They were able to get us the closest room to the parking lot and were exteemely helpful ensuring she got there safe. The view is stunning, the facilities are extraordinary, the food is also good. Cleannningnes is unmatched, it was worth its price. I would only encourage them to scrub more often the toilette/shower floor as it had a mild pee smell, and green mold is growing in that area. However it wasnt anything disturbing, and the place is AMAZING. Would totally stay there again and I truly reccommend it!

This is a lovely property with incredible views over the lake and Mount Batur. The communication form the staff on helping with transfers and the sunrise hike was excellent. Kadek and the team were all brilliant... Quirky design and all in all a really pleasant stay!

Die Zimmer sind fantastisch und mit dem kulinarischen Angebot bleibt wirklich kein Wunsch offen. Von der Hotelterasse kann man einen wunderschönen Sonnenaufgang genießen. Immer wieder gerne!

Firstly, the food was really poor. The options on the menu are various, but having experienced dinner and breakfast, the quality was very bad as if the chef took no care as to what is being served. The restaurant had a wasp/hornet problem and being near a lake and farmland, there was so many flies and bugs that it rendered using the open air bar completely unusable unless you are not concerned with insects.

The hotel rooms are not very well equipped and have a rather brutalist style. Fine if you are okay with that, however for a 4-star property, it was expected that there would be some extra amenities in room.

Lastly, it was not made clear that the room door and balcony door do not lock very well and are not flush fitted (there was about a 1.5 inch gap between the door and floor/wall/ceiling) meaning the rooms are very noisy and exposed to the elements (more bugs).

On a positive note however - the bed was comfortable and the staff were very polite and lovely. The hotel is only good for a short stay if you do not plan on staying at the hotel very much and dining there, though there is little to do in the area other than hiking visiting the small various villages/temples that are on the lake.

beautiful views, excellent food, very kind staff. only complain is that i am sensitive to strong perfumes and the sheets have a lot of perfume on them, but most people don't mind that. i had a wonderful time staying here otherwise. the private infinity pool on the balcony is a wonderful touch, just be sure not to overfill it as it will drain onto the people's balcony below yours, oops!

Great stay at the Oculus hotel. Food and facilities are amazing with excellent service.
The hotel is located on a steep incline with lots of steps and hillu walks into Kintamanti so not recommended for someone with limited accessibility or pushchairs.
We booked this hotel to do the Jeep Adventure to Mount Batur and it's a perfect location to relax and unwind away from the south madness.

Great location in Kintamani. Sunsets are better from your own balcony or the rooftop pool then at the restaurants up on the ridge. Beds are super comfy and the room has all you need, other than maybe a small fridge. Meals here were all great, other than the steak. Photo is from the balcony bath

From before we arrived, the staff was very responsive and kind. The views from the hotel over Lake Batur and Mount Batur were stunning and the rooftop pool was heated for an evening swim. The water for the showers was nice and hot too. The only issue we ran into was the generator having some issues on our last morning that couldn’t be helped.
