Poor conditions, and unprofessional behavior made this a very disappointing experience

Cons:

The listing said “pay at the property,” but immediately after booking they demanded 50% advance payment before arrival, which was misleading and frustrating. The actual stay looked nothing like the photos dirty, gloomy, and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, the staff was extremely unprofessional. When I tried to cancel, the person in charge argued aggressively and even shouted at me. Even though I didn’t stay, I still had to pay cancellation charges equivalent to one night’s booking. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this place.

Pros:

We were just next to a construction site that would start work at 7.30. Walls are paper thin and you get all the noise from outside and the room and is either super cold or hot.

Cons:

Spider webs and dirt inside and outside furniture. Theres a coconut tree in the bathroom that wasn’t clean and had toilet paper and used soap in its rocks. The shower mechanism is falling apart from the wall and the water is either boiling hot or cold since the water mixer doesn’t work properly.

Todo estuvo genial! La ubicación al lado de la playa, cerca de todo. El staff muy amable, las habitaciones bonitas, sencillas pero con lo necesario y con mucha naturaleza alrededor 😍 el wifi funciona bien y tiene agua caliente

My stay at the Patnem Beach Cottages was simply fantastic! The communication with the owner was excellent from the time of booking until my departure, a cab was organized for my arrival and departure and I could come to him with any other concerns. The accommodation itself is a row of 4 cottages, with an amazing amount of space, good facilities with fridge, air conditioning, separate bathroom, table & wardrobe and the cleanliness was also of a high standard. Patnem is very small and so everything is within easy walking distance, yet the location of the cottages should be emphasized, which are in a secluded side street and therefore quiet. The only things to be aware of in terms of noise are the nearby train station, whose freight trains can be heard especially at night, a large group of dogs that sometimes join together at night for a concert, or the loud banging of coconuts that monkeys bang on the tin roofs of the cottages at night. But this is only for sensitive ears, I enjoyed the accommodation so much as a woman traveling alone that I extended my stay by 3 days and would return at any time. Once again a big thank you for everything!
