Pros:

Tranquillità, cortesia, ambiente. In casa non mancava assolutamente nulla

Cons:

Difficile trovare qualcosa che non andava. Ho consapevolmente scelto questo bnb perché avevo unauto e quindi, la posizione un po' decentrata, ma comunque a 2 passi da un supermercato, per me non era un fattore, ma se si fosse a piedi, andare e tornare dal centro può diventare impegnativo per via della pendenza

The kitchen area was nice, specially having an actual stove and not an electric one and also the bedroom was very nice and cozy, there was also parking inside the property which is great if you have a car, would recommend

READ before booking!

Where to start? First we booked a room at caza irazu late in the evening. 30$ with breakfast included. Reservation confirmed. Then later in this evening we received a WhatsApp message from the owner, saying “sorry, there is a mistake on booking, price is for one person, so total is actually 60$”. Double the price! We were surprised. We initially refused, asked to cancel but then realized that it was 20.30 and won’t be possible to find a plan B for the night. We asked the owner for a solution. She said she could do 30$ but no breakfast. Facing the wall we accepted the deal.

The nightmare was not finished. On arrival, as we parked she said we will have to move the car tomorrow in the morning at 7.00 in the morning… because there will be work on the property!

Then for the place itself : it’s basic, the rooms are super small, just enough for a bed and a desk, walls are thin, and with 3 neighbors you can hear them as clear as if they were in the same room. WiFi was not fast. Electricity went out in the morning…

Just for comparison, for the same price (30$), we had a beautiful dome in the nature, with kitchen and toilet in the dome, and a personal jacuzzi in front !

Pros:

Berna war eine wunderbare Gastgeberin und man fühlt sich sehr willkommen. Sie hat uns Tipps gegeben für unseren Ausflug auf den Volcan Irazú. Auch das Frühstück war lecker und wurde nach den Wünschen der Kinder angepasst. Wir fühlten uns wohl und würden wiederkommen.

Cons:

Etwas umständlich war das hin- und herparken aufgrund einer Baustelle in ihrem Garten. Auch wurde das Badezimmer, welches Berna uns zum alleinigen Gebrauch gezeigt hatte, plötzlich von einer anderen Familie mitbenutzt , ohne dass wir darüber informiert wurden.

Pros:

Great place close to Volcan Irazu. Nice garden at the entrance. Secure gated parking. Berna is a great host and her English is excellent, which makes it easier for international tourists. Clean room with lots of storage space. The shower and bathroom are modern looking and clean. Guests can cook in the house, although we didn't do it. Brenda prepares a great breakfast for her guests.

My stay with Berna was truly very pleasant. I immediately felt at home, and the cozy room made me feel at home. The accommodation is perfect for a trip to the Irazú volcano. Everything is clean, and Berna is a very friendly host.
