Pros:

Very friendly family. It was like staying with old friends. Nothing was too much trouble. Stylish decor. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money, close to a small supermarket, with a chemist and McDonalds slightly further away. Frequent, cheap bus service into city centre from early morning until late at night. Place to park car off the road. Respectable quiet part of town.

Cons:

Only one shared toilet.

okay for a short stay in dublin
Pros:

right outside dublin city centre & easily accessible by bus (stop is about 3 min walk away and 30 mins out of temple bar). good chinese food nearby and a small market. host is nice. room was decently sized (in spite of awkwardly placed furniture) and bed was extremely comfy. accessible kitchenette.

Cons:

very much felt like i was staying at someone’s house; i felt i was imposing a lot of times and just felt hyperaware of how loud i was being when walking up the stairs or going in to use the shared loo. the walls are thin and i could hear people coming in/out and TV in other rooms. floors are super creaky, especially when going up/down the stairs. kitchen is not the cleanest.

A Warm and Cozy Home Away from Home.

We would love to leave a warm review for the wonderful guesthouse The Hideout!
This is a truly lovely place — clean, warm, and cozy, just like home. Everything you might need is thoughtfully provided. Here you can genuinely relax, get a great night’s sleep, and recharge after a long journey.
We were especially lucky to stay here at Christmas time — the beautiful Christmas tree, lovely decorations, and twinkling lights created a truly magical, fairy-tale atmosphere.
The Kelly family are absolutely lovely — very kind, attentive, and friendly. They really helped us out with a phone charger, as my charging block had broken, and we truly appreciated their kindness. We really enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I wholeheartedly recommend The Hideout, and we will definitely return whenever we are in Dublin again.
