Pros:

It's very quiet and it's on a super clean field.

Cons:

They overcharged me, by far, even if I paid cash in local currency, they gave me back some of that, but not complete. It is far from the park and if you do not communicate by message or organize with the Marriott truck you have to walk 2.5 km to get there. There's nothing nearby to eat, be prepared with that. They were going to connect the internet, because they were getting signal from another hotel .

Amazing hosts & location
Pros:

James and Brenda provided an amazing experience. The accommodation was simple but very clean and you can pay extra for breakfast and transport if you like. There is a cafe just over the road with great food and the national park is just 2km away. We learned so much from our hosts. Brenda is a park guide and you can book trips directly through her. James is local from Mulu and very knowledgeable about the village and all the history. We loved our 4 nights here thank you!

James molto cordiale e simpatico, ci ha raccontato diverse storie locali

Cons:

Al rientro dal parco abbiamo scoperto che l’acqua viene chiusa in determinate fasce orarie, tuttavia non corrispondevano a quanto dichiarato, infatti dalle 20 (ora del rientro) alle 7 (ora in cui siamo usciti per nuovo tour) non c’era acqua, quindi grosso disagio.

Sehr nettes ubd hilfsbereites Personal. James und Brenda sind wirklich coole Personen! Es liegt etwas außerhalb, Transport lässt sich aber gut organisieren. Außerdem ist das Stella Café direkt gegenüber. Sehr lecker :)

Brenda hat schnell auf meine Anfragen per WhatsApp reagiert und Taxi vermittelt.

Cons:

Ich war in meinem Leben schon in wirklich vielen einfachen Unterkünften und unterstütze gerne Initiativen von Einheimischen abseits von kommerziellen Unterkünften. Hier hat das Preis Leistungsverhältnis jedoch nicht gepasst.
Es ist genau wie auf den Bildern aber da es so gut bewertet war dachte ich es wird trotzdem besonders.
Wir waren echt froh nur eine Nacht dort gewesen zu sein, waren zuvor 2 Nächte in der Nationalpark Lodge. Dort war es billiger, wenn man bedenkt dass Frühstück inkludiert ist und kein Taxitransfer (5rm pro Person und Fahrt ) nötig ist.

Pros:

James hat immer Zeit,war so hilfsbereit und offen. Er holte mich nach dem Night Walk ab, konnte viel geschichtliches und Interessantes über Mulu erzählen.Mulu village ist 30 min zu Fuss weg vom Center, was ich toll fand. So war es am Morgen sehr gemütlich und ruhig.

La disponibilité de james qui est très accueillant

Cons:

Quelle déception. On s’attendait à un endroit familial et le manque de confort ne nous dérange pas du tout. Mais une accumulation de points négatifs nous a fait passé un mauvais séjour. TRÈS bruyant, passage de débroussailleuse à 7h, pas de poubelle, douche à l’eau de rivière froide dans les toilettes, pas de robinet, pas de Clim, pas de fenêtre donc on entend tout, une pompe à eau qui tourne jusque 23h et qui nous empêche de dormir. Je ne met jamais d’avis négatifs mais pour cet établissement les commentaires dithyrambiques sont injustifiés et lunaires.

James e Brenda sono persone fantastiche, ci hanno accompagnato ovunque, sono stati molto accoglienti! Brenda è un ottima guida e i tour sono stati organizzati benissimo. Davanti alla struttura si trova un posto comodissimo per mangiare, che si arriva tranquillamente a piedi.

Kind hosts, loved the history and felt very welcomed
Pros:

James and Brenda were amazing. So enthusiastic and kind, helping us organise transport and tours. The communal area is a nice place to relax with some basic cooking facilities. Close to Stellas and the Marriott for food. Good value for money.

Cons:

The bathroom is a bit basic with a cold shower (although with the heat we appreciated the cold) and the room had fans but no Aircon which was not a problem at night when the outside temperature cooled down but warm in the day. So long as you don't expect luxury you'll love it here !

It’s a little bit far from the park but it has all the peace that’s needed, accompanied by gecko (if you are lucky)😂 transportation can be arranged with a small fee to HQ, so, not really an issue :)
