What a wonderful place, highly recommend. Superb hospitality..

This is great value for money considering the location and the facilities. The host was very friendly and approachable. We came very late in the evening, but he welcomed us well. The bedwas comfy and the room was very clean.

As soon as you enter the big sliding door, you are welcomed by bamboo plants which create a very pleasant ambience. As the name suggests, the courtyard features a mango tree with a concrete table underneath.

Die Familie des Betreibers ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Schon Wochen im Voraus halfen sie uns, unseren Beginn unserer Reise zu planen. Sie schickten Infos zu Zügen und Pick Me. Sie erkundigten sich, ob wir weitere Fragen haben.
Vor Ort haben wir ein sauberes Zimmer im 1. OG erhalten. Für den Preis war wirklich alles prima. Das Bett war bequem, die Dusche warm, die Klimanlage hat funktioniert und wir hatten jeder 2 Flaschen Wasser bekommen. Wir haben super geschlafen und da nach uns keine Buchung drin war, durften wir uns auf Zeit lassen mit dem Check-Out.
Unser Highlight war das Frühstück (6$ pro Person). Wir bekamen landestypisches Frühstück serviert und das war unglaublich lecker. Auf Wunsch hätte man auch Toast bekommen, aber das wollten wir nicht. Wenn ihr das lieber wollt, gebt einfach im Vorfeld Bescheid, dann macht die Familie das auch möglich. Der Kaffee war sehr gut. Wir durften die ganze Familie mit Kids kennenlernen. Sie zeigten uns ein bisschen ihr Zuhause (die Straßen rund rum), erzählten uns etwas über die letzten Jahre Sri Lankas und gaben uns eine kleine Garten Tour und erklärten viel zu ihren heimischen Früchten. Es war ein unglaubliches, ruhiges und warmherziges Willkommen in diesem Land. Ich würde jedem, der Richtung Kandy unterwegs ist und vielleicht spät abends am Flughafen ankommt, empfehlen, hier eine Nacht zu bleiben und die Gastfreundschaft und das unglaublich leckere Frühstück zu genießen.

Był to nasz pierwszy przystanek po wylądowaniu. Super mili właściciele z którymi można porozmawiać, dopytać różnych informacji.
Na miejscu bardzo dobre, rozmaite śniadanie i dodatkowo można zamówić kolację, która również była pyszna. Jeszcze dodatkowo byliśmy wcześniej i dostaliśmy pokój wcześniej więc super dzięki

We highly recommend this place! Eranda and Anusha are fantastic and extremely helpful hosts. We were not keen on travelling into Colombo and had quite a few rail journeys planned, and for that, Veyangoda is a great location with lines going East (Main line to Kandy/ Ella etc.) and North (towards Jaffna). So we stayed in Mango Roots twice. Eranda picked us up from the airport and made sure we got dinner despite the late hour. When we came back the second time, he picked us up at the train station (and dropped us there the following morning). Anusha then prepared a fantastic dinner for us that we had at their lovely family home. The rooms are very comfortable, have AC and hot water, and the beds are very comfortable. Thank you again, Eranda and Anusha!

Wow! The hosts were amazing and really ensured our first night/ day in Sri Lanka was memorable and authentic. They were extremely helpful and provided us with all the information we could possibly need. We ended up spending the day with him and he took us all the way to our second place, stopping on the way to show us tea and delicious roti and sambal. He provided us with an in depth history of himself, his family and Sri Lanka in general. Such an informative experience ❤️ The breakfast in the morning was delightful and we loved meeting the three little triplets. Amazing, would HIGHLY recommend.

Eranda war super hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich, ich war zwar nur eine Nacht dort aber es hat mir wunderbar gefallen. Würde wieder dort übernachten :)

Our host was fantastic. He not only picked us up from the airport and served us fresh and local food, but also drove us to a nearby temple and showed us around. He explained a lot about Sri Lanka to us and warmheartedly invited us to his family. We appreciated his hospitality and kindness and strongly recommend this location to everyone. The room had a king size mattress and air conditioning which was a great relieve for us as it was our first day after having arrived in Sri Lanka.

Comfortable room, lovely food, run by a charming family and all at a good price. I’ll be back soon.

This very affordable homestay is part of a young family's dream - and it really shows.

It happens from time to time that I give accommodations the maximum 10/10. When it comes to Mango Roots, however, I have to give at least 11/10😉

The lovely host couple are extremely generous and welcoming - or as my wife exclaimed: -They are the nicest host couple we have ever met!

The rooms and bathrooms were built five years ago and are very fresh, well-furnished and very clean. The beds are so comfortable, the a/c works quietly, the shower is nice with hot water, etc. etc.

They have also invested in solar cell technology, rechargeable lamps and universal wall sockets that fit Euro plugs, among other plugs.

The accommodation is located in a quiet and safe area and the two rooms are located on the upper floor of a separate building.

Unfortunately, we did not have dinner there, but we did get a fantastic Sri Lankan breakfast and lots of new knowledge about fruits, plant cultivation and Sri Lankan cooking in the bargain.

It is with great pleasure that we give our very best recommendations.

Eranda and Anusha are extremely helpful and nice people, in every way imaginable. They could not have done more for me. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet. Which was perfect for me, as I was fighting a cold.
When eating dinner, I thought "This will probably be one of the best foods I will have eaten during my days in Sri Lanka". It was beautifully and lovely prepared local food, which I very much appreciated.
Down the street, there are some calm paths to take a relaxing walk through green and natural areas.

Our host was incredibly kind and the food was delicious. The mattresses are very comfortable
