Everything, the owner took the time to explain things to me, even took me to the Bus stop, the breakfast, thé location, the room. It was the best place I stayed during my trip in China

The staff was very helpful. The room is located in one of the traditional square (not round) homes. It was a nice surprise that heating was available inside the room.
Breakfast was very good with a choice between Chinese and western food.
It is located inside the visitors area, and it's easy to walk from the hotel to different traditional villages

It’s the kind of place you remember for the rest of your life. This hotel, which I booked blindly at the very last minute, turned out to be a real tulou, located in an exceptional village in Futian, connected to other extraordinary heritage sites that can be reached on foot or by car. You are truly immersed in ancestral China, and it has an incredible charm.
Our host Alice—whom everyone mentions on Booking when talking about this hotel—is incredibly welcoming and instantly connects with everyone. A shuttle/VTC service is available to get to and from the hotel, and the driver is also very friendly.

Accueil très chaleureux. Alice et son mari nous ont aidés à organiser notre voyage. Nous sommes venus en voiture privée de Xiamen et avons pu visiter Tianluokeng en détails avec guide le premier jour. Le 2e jour a été très bien organisé aussi. Chambre confortable dans le Tulou, avec chauffage et salle de bains privée, ce qui est un luxe. Le village de Taxia n’est accessible qu’en voiture.

Ik verbleef twee weken in deze authentieke tulou en het was een geweldige ervaring. Alice is een fantastische host: altijd behulpzaam, warm en gastvrij. De kamer was schoon, comfortabel en van alle gemakken voorzien.

De locatie is ideaal: op slechts 10 minuten lopen van Taxia Village met diverse restaurants en voorzieningen, en veel bekende tulou’s liggen binnen een straal van 20 km. Ook het vervoer is uitstekend geregeld. Jesse, de man van Alice, is erg sympathiek en brengt je voor redelijke prijzen overal naartoe. Daarnaast is er een bushalte op slechts 3 minuten lopen.

Jesse reed me zelfs naar de Lingtong-tempel, een rit van ruim twee uur. Deze indrukwekkende boeddhistische tempel ligt hoog in de bergen, tegen een rotswand aangebouwd, en was adembenemend mooi met een heel bijzondere sfeer.

Dankzij de uitzonderlijke gastvrijheid van Alice en Jesse en de unieke ervaring van het verblijven in een authentieke tulou heb ik hier een onvergetelijk verblijf gehad.

Alice and Jesse are amazing. Kind, helpful and their English is great! I additionally booked Jesse as a driver, a must to get around. Taxia is a cute village with some restaurants on walking distance. The hotel is comfortable and authentic.

Fantastic owner couple Alice and Jesse. Both speak English well and very helpful. Perfect place to stay for those who would like to experience a bit of Hakka Tulou life and don't speak Chinese. Highly recommend.

Alice est vraiment super gentille et parle anglais ce qui est très pratique. On a adoré discuter avec elle, qui a grandi dans ce coin.
Elle peut aider pour organiser les transferts en voiture depuis la gare ou les zones touristiques.

I loved the authenticity of the building. To stay in a Tulou was so exciting. Alice has made the rooms really comfortable with all mod cons, aircon, shower etc but outside the room it's as it would have been when it was lived in by working families. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the main part of the pretty village so an easy stroll for dinner. Alice was a wonderful host and Jesse (her husband) was our fabulous driver and guide.

Alice is a lovely host. She was so helpful. I had friends come along in the end but she had no more rooms. She helped me find two rooms at a neighbor's place. She speaks English.

아침은 따로 안먹었습니다. 전반적으로 숙소가 청결하고 인테리어도 아름답습니다. 엄청 오래된 고택임에도 리모델링이 잘 되어 있어요. 호텔 주인분은 영어를 구사하십니다. 아주 귀여운 고양이도 있어요.

Alice is a very welcoming host. She offered her assistance from the very beginning, finding cheap comfortable transportation from Xiamen, giving guidance to understand the Tulous and get local delicious food. The room is clean and modern, everything a traveler would need and more. Thank you Alice, unforgettable experience and overall a must for everyone traveling Fujian.

Ps: Be aware the area is Unesco Heritage and a fee for tourists is required (aprox. 15$).
