Peaceful and good value stay close to Botanical Garden
Pros:

The room was spacious and the bathroom was huge. Comfortable bed. The breakfast was good, not a huge choice but South Indian parotta and idly were good. It was cold but a heater was quickly provided although we had to pay a little more for this. Although not advertised, food can be provided to eat in your room. Good value and well cooked. The manager and the staff were helpful and responded quickly to requests. The Wi-Fi was a little slow. To get to the town you need to take a tuk tuk but they are easy to find within a 5 minute walk. It’s a a hort stroll away from the Botanical garden in a peaceful street.

Great Manager. Good Location. An old place that I was happy to stay at.
Pros:

The Manager Javid was very helpful and did his best to ensure my stay was enjoyable. He was very good. The location is near enough to walk to shops and autos (tuk tuk) toe get around easily. There is a large church across the road which tolls the bells at six each morning. This didn’t bother me but it is worth knowing about. The actual building is estimated to be over 100 years old and is actually on a tilt. It’s a bit weird but a nice quirk. Dining room is large and there is a billiard table upstairs with lounge chairs for guests. I enjoyed my two nights at the Colonels.

Cons:

The wifi was very intermittent with a weak signal. Travellers is this modern world expect reliable communication and the Colonels slipped in this area.

Great, welcoming and comfortable stay
Pros:

Good breakfast with a mix of options, chef Ranjit was excellent and the Indian breakfast was particularly good. Room and guest house was quiet, quirky and well located. Staff really helpful and whole experience was very relaxed.

Excellent house excellent staff
Pros:

The propert had a colonial feel to it and I had a fabulous room with a large balcony so you could enjoy a cup of tea there. It was close to everywhere you wanted to go to. The staff were excellent and couldn’t do more for you.

Good room with a balcony looking towards the Ooty Gardens. Sooker table was a plus!Gardens.

Nice cozy ambience, kind staff and silent location, close to botanical garden and a bit outside of the busy streets. There is also a pool table in the common area and complimentary breakfast (indian breakfast+omelette)

Convenient, comfortable and good value.
Pros:

Great location, just a short walk into town. Old style building with large rooms. Decent bathroom and shower. Staff were all really good. Helpful, cheerful and attentive. The food was delicious, both breakfast and dinner. They were able to recommend a local taxi driver and guide, Arul. He was brilliant with airport transfer and excursions. Don’t choose any one else!

Cons:

It’s nice being next to the Sacred Heart cathedral, a beautiful building. But they ring the bells early so no need for an alarm clock!

Bon emplacement mais l’établissement nécessite quelques dépenses de rénovation et d’entretien pour justifier le prix.
Pros:

Situé à proximité du jardin botanique dans un quartier très tranquille tout en étant près du centre ville.
Le charme désuet d’une maison ancienne.
Le copieux petit-déjeuner.

Cons:

La moisissure sur le mur de la chambre qui traduit un manque d’entretien.
Le rapport qualité/prix. Un peu trop cher vu le manque d’investissement manifeste.

A great place to stay!
