Good stay if you are looking for quite & attach with nature.
Pros:

When I am choosing the accommodation, I am preferred local/ kampung vibe. So this stay up to my expectation.
Devi and her husband Ari is very good host & owner. We received warm welcome from both of them and feel like home.
Most of the plants & tree around the stay eatable & the couple planted it by themself. We got plenty info about the plants as well :). Good stay & will stay there again once we come back.

Séjour incroyable !
Super cadre, bon équipement, scooter disponible pour explorer la vallée
Davy et sa fille sont incroyablement gentilles et intéressantes, elles ont tout fait pour rendre notre séjour parfait, nous ont aidé pour nos déplacements, nos activités! Elles sont de super cuisinières on s’est régalé !

Super hôte, je recommande
Pros:

Davy parle très bien l’anglais et a toujours le sourire. Nous accueilli avec des petits gâteaux maison. Nous a fait du pain au cas où on est faim pour notre retour en voiture de 5 heures.
Elle nous a trouvé un guide super .

Cons:

Manque un évier pour se laver les dents! Mais c’est un détail ! Et ce n’est pas négatif

Pros:

This was such a great find for me, the guesthouse sits in such a relaxing atmosphere. I spent three nights here and explored many of the places around the valley. Davi and the rest of her staff were happy, friendly and helpful and the meals were delicious.
The room was spacious and comfortable, hot water and has an amazing view up to the limestone cliffs.

Pros:

Heel vriendelijke vrouw die perfect Engels spreekt en een heerlijk ontbijt heeft. Ze probeert goed aan te sluiten bij je wensen en hielp ons met regelen van reservering busrit vanuit Bukettinggi naar Lake Toba. Superfijn! Ze heeft een zelfvoorzienende leefstijl met eigen vis, groente, fruit, kruiden en zo min mogelijk impact op het milieu te hebben. We kregen zelfgebakken brood als ontbijt.

Cons:

In 2025 was er geen muskietennet. Zowel de douche en toilet werkten niet goed. De Harauvallei is 'weg': is als een groot toeristisch pretpark.

Riche en rencontres et en paysages, ce séjour nous a beaucoup plu. Nous gardons contact avec Devi pour poursuivre l’appr

Devi fut à l’écoute dès la réservation et a été prévenante durant tout notre séjour. Elle nous a proposé des lieux à visiter, autant à pied, en scooter ou même en voiture. Elle s’est improvisée guide touristique et reporter photo. Un délicieux moment ! Son mari Ari est un très bon conducteur, et disponible.

Cons:

Rien ! Ah si, il manque un petit lavabo.

On a adoré l'accueil de Devi et toutes ses attentions. Nous recommandons chaudement.

L'accueil incroyable de Devi, son énergie et sa grande gentillesse. Nous avons eu la chance qu'elle et son mari soient disponibles pour nous faire découvrir leur belle vallée de manière très personnalisee.

Réveils un peu matinaux (appel du muezzin et bruit des animaux de la maison).

Genuine hospitality in a local homestay in the heart of Harau!
Pros:

I loved my stay at Roemah Abode! Devi is a wonderful host who goes out of her way to make sure that her guests are comfortable and well looked after. Roemah Abode is situated in a great location in Harau and is walking distance from two waterfalls. From the balcony you can look out into nature. The property is a labour of love with many plants, vegetables and herbs and animals. Devi's homestay is a great choice if you want genuine and friendly hospitality in a lovely location.
