Family one night stay
Pros:

Przemiła właścicielka, jej misją było, żebyś się czuł jak w domu. Pokój czysty, są ręczniki, pościel, moskitiery, wiatrak, brak klimatyzacji, ale w Ella jest ona niepotrzebna, gdyż jest tam chłodniej niż na wybrzeżu. Blisko do centrum. Dostępne pyszne śniadanie. Lime pancakes są najlepsze.

Sudha was so nice so was her family. Cutest cats and dogs, we really enjoyed the cooking class, we had way too much to eat after haha! Hot shower!

Cons:

Leeches came up I don’t know where while in the shower but only a few. Everything else was great and as expected!

Un hébergement sympa et atypique, avec du bruit de la ville

La tente est très bien, propre, la salle de bain est à plusieurs mètres mais ça ne nous a pas dérangé, la propriétaire est très gentille

Terrible customer service experience
Pros:

When I first arrived, they gave me some free tea. It all went downhill from there.

Cons:

This was the worst experience I've had after spending more than a month staying in similar homestay in Sri Lanka. The room was fine, a bit old, run down, damp as other people mentioned.

But my main complaint was the way I was treated. I had booked 4 nights. And on the 2nd day the owner begged me to switch rooms to a different hotel so she could rent out my room and make more money. The new homestay was right next to a loud busy intersection without glass in all the windows so it sounded like tuk tuks were basically in the room. When I told the Tunnel Gap owner that I was not happy with this switch. She said, "Too bad, I've done all I can do for you." The new hotel was also supposed to be cheaper, but she made me pay the original price.

She offered me 1 free breakfast and acted like a pancake should make up for having to move rooms/homestay everyday as well as missing a night of sleep due to the traffic noises.

(I did move to a new hotel on the last day, and she took the cost of the "free breakfast" out of my refund.)

This experience ruined Ella for me. I can't wait to get as far away from here as possible.
