Great authentic place, amazing host and food
Pros:

One of my favourite places in all Sri Lanka. Away from the crowds and with greenery and a cannal to enjoy and relax.
Nilu the host was the most amazing person , not just renting a room but providing an experience . The things Ive learn and saw were amazing.
If you want something authentic this a place to go .

Pros:

De hostes is echt heel gast vrij!! Leuke plek, vlakbij Mineriya en Sigiriya. Echt een aanrader!

Cons:

Het was gewoon heerlijk! We hadden nog een nacht moeten blijven!

Pros:

Die Gastgeberin ist sehr herzlich und kümmert sich sehr um ihre Gäste. Safaritour in den Minneriya Nationalpark wurde von ihr organisiert. Das Essen ist authentisch und sehr lecker.
Giritale ist ein kleines Dorf, spaziert man dem Bach entlang, begegnet man den Einheimischen, die sehr freundlich und interessiert sind.

Pros:

The host and her family were extremely helpful throughout our stay. The garden was beautiful and their dog Ellie was a delight! The cooking was delicious - very generous portions! It was lovely to try homemade Sri Lankan food.

Cons:

The property is great for a safari, but other than that there is not much else to do in the area.

Overall very enjoyable!
Pros:

Very nice home cooked breakfast and dinners.
The host tried really hard to help us make plans. We enjoyed the quiet location watching squirrels and birds.
We stayed 3 nights to do a safari to the Eco Park and ro Kaudulla National Park. and catch the bus to Polonaruwa.

Cons:

A hot water kettle in the room would be nice, especially if staying a bit longer.

Restful base for area exploration.
Pros:

This is a sanctuary stay in a rural place. It was easy to find with a bus from the cross roads stop in Habarana, on any bus going to polonnaruwa, getting off at Giritale, 2nd stop then walking a short distance along a canal road.
Nilu and family are very welcoming.
Breakfast included is delicious.
Wonderful meals are available.

Pros:

We had an incredible one night stay at Green Garden Homestay. Nillu (the guest) was super friendly, cooked delicious food for dinner and breakfast and we had a great conversation with her and her son. She also helped us arrange the safari to Huluro Eco Park, where we could see lots of wild elephants. We fell in love with her dog Elly, she was so cute and barked at the monkeys that tried to get close to the house! We would repeat for sure and recommend to our friends visiting Sri Lanka

A lovely and heartfelt place with amazing Sri Lankan food and a heartfelt host.
Pros:

The room had AC, a fan and bathroom with shower. Warm water sometimes didn’t work but there was soap and toilet paper for the tourists.
The food (both dinner and breakfast) was amazing and we’d only recommend you eat at the property.
The host was very nice and helpful.

Cons:

A monkey stole our shoes, just be careful not to leave stuff outside 😃
