В доме Анжелы мы провели одни из лучших своих дней в Китае (несмотря на то, что в это время было сильнейшее наводнение). Огромное спасибо Анжеле за ее помощь и отзывчивость. Она прекрасно говорит по-английски, ее муж - через приложение на смартфоне. После того, как водный город отменил нашу бронь из-за затопления, мы решили вернуться к Анжеле. Мы прекрасно погуляли по всем находящимся в пешей доступности частям Великой Китайской стены (дома у Анжелы есть прекрасный план о том, как куда можно добраться).
В городе (у ворот в храм) есть потрясающий магазин с фруктами и где можно купить детские подгузники.
Муж Анжелы готовит просто божественно и очень помогает всем гостям. Рекомендую обязательно заказывать завтрак, обед и ужин у них. Тогда у вас будет настоящий гастрономический тур!
Кровать в номере просто ОГРОМНАЯ. Я никогда таких не видел.
Вся семья Анжелы очень бережно относились к нашей полуторогодовалой малышке.
Спасибо вам огромное.
Если я решу купить дом в Китае, то обязательно буду жить рядом с Анжелой, чтобы иметь возможность стать другом ее семьи.

The family is a wonderful host with amazing food, very spacious and clean rooms and perfect location for the Wall-Entrance.
A perfect place to relax, to hike and to enjoy the scenery and nature.

They helped us a lot organising our visit at the Great wall including all transfers. The dinner was delicious and our kids loved the pool and the football table.

Wow. This place is magical and the hosts are SO lovely. They make everything possible.

I was initially unsure whether I’d be able to do a self-guided tour to the Great Wall but it couldn’t have been easier. First you take the train to Gubeiko and they’ll pick you up there with a sign with your name. They feed, water and drive you the whole time all at a very good price.

The accommodation is very comfortable and the WiFi is super strong. I’m a digital nomad so work while I’m away and the WiFi was strong enough for video calls. Stronger than in Beijing.

You can easily walk from here to the Great Wall. I did a whole day hiking from here. You can hike from the restored section in Jinshaling to here as a 6 hour hike taking in both the restored section and the unrestored section of the Great Wall. It’s an incredible walk that’ll leave you so so happy!

They even helped me sort a problem with my mobile, which I massively appreciated.

I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Super séjour dans cette famille ! La cuisine est excellente avec les légumes du jardin. Je n'ai jamais aussi bien mangé en Chine, La chambre est très grande et très propre. Le propriétaire est adorable, il m'a très bien conseillée pour visiter la muraille dont l'entrée pour la partie non rénovée est toute proche. Ensuite il propose ses services de taxi pour visiter la partie rénovée. Situé hors du village on profite du calme et de la piscine après une longue journée de marche.

Very good location for me. Just a few minutes walk to PANLONG Great Wall Scenic Area. I could see Simatai Great Wall from the ROOF TERRACE. The vegetable gardens. I could pick the vegetables that I like and Mr. Chang Cheng would cook them to my liking. He is very accommodating and caring. He arranged for a car to pick me up at a village after I got lost at the end of my hike. I even play TABLE FOOTBALL and CHINESE CHESS with him. Gubei Water Town is less than 15 minutes drive by car. The Gubeikou Train Station is 10 minutes away by car. The Driver whom he assigned met me very promptly upon my arrival. Lastly he arranged for the same Driver to send me to Beijing Capital Airport from the Homestay. Thank You Chang Cheng for a wonderful stay.

This was my second stay in this quest house and the owners have modernised the place by renovating the rooms and bathrooms. The rooms are spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The Wifi works very well. The accommodation is literally at the entrance of The Gubeikou Great Wall and only a short 10 min hike away. But the best part of our stay were the friendly hosts. Angela speaks very good English and communicates very well via messages beforehand and her husband Chen Is such a friendly guy who makes sure that your stay will be unforgettable. His cooking skills are the best. Highly recommended!

Everything , I’m writing this from the train station about to leave . The setting is perfect to go around the multiple parts of the Great Wall , there is one unrestored a short walk from the hotel . Honestly this place and its people are amazing . You will feel at home, they arrange everything for you and the food is delicious. It feels like home .

Everything, the family, the food, the location! It was during May labour day holiday time and it was so quiet there. We almost had the great wall to ourselves! We will def come back again!

It's a miracle that we could find such a paradise during May holidays We barbecued on the first day and had their sweet and sour fish and chicken stewed mushrooms on the second day. All the mushrooms and wild vegetables there are picked in the mountains or home-grown. We will definitely come back here next time we are back home. This is definitely the place to go if you wish to get away from the downtown area.

The accomodation is well located and very peaceful at night. The host was attentive and warm-hearted. Highly recommended.

This property is a little gem. Just a 15 minutes walking distance from the Panlongshan section of the Great Wall, it gives you the chance to experience the sunset and sunrise on the Great Wall, and from there to reach the Jinshanling track from the West gate. But logistics is only one part of the story. The family who runs the inn is just unbelievable welcoming and helpful. They fetched me at Gubeikou station, came to pick me up after the hike, and even prepared a delicious breakfast and packed lunch for my hike. On the top of this, the quality of the room is exceptionally high. Fully equipped and very nicely decorated. A 5 star stay, that’s for sure.

In my opinion its people who always make a place -- the owners (the whole family - Angela, her husband, two daughters and mother-in-law) are extremely kind, generous, helpful and funny!

I cannot recommend this property enough. The family who run the property were so helpful, kind and generous. They went out of their way to help us- booking transport and catering meals, making recommendations for our trip.

To get here, we took the bus from Beijing to Gubeikou Water town and stayed 2 nights here, then took the train from Gubeikou back to Beijing. The couple cooked us vegetarian dinner, breakfast and made us packed lunches for our day hike along the wall. Delicious homemade Chinese food!

The property is so conveniently located to access three parts of the Great Wall: Pandong is 5mins walk, Jinshaling is 20-30mins by car and Gubeikou water town is 15mins by car.

The hosts helped us organise transport to the property and plan our visit to the wall.

Translation was no problem- we used WeChat translate and Google translate to communicate. And we used AliPay to pay for everything while we were there.

There was a fussball table, scooters and skateboard toys for our daughter to play on whilst we were at the property too.
