The resort is located just outside Jepara, approximately 30 minutes from the harbor. We stayed here because we were taking the boat to Karimunjawa the following day.
One unusual aspect was that guests have to pay separately for access to the road leading to the resort. Although the fee was not expensive, it still felt a bit strange.
The resort itself was much better than we had expected. The entire property is well maintained, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and our sea-view villa was far more spacious than anticipated.
Breakfast by the pool in the morning was a particularly enjoyable experience, with a good selection of food and more than enough options to start the day.
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by this resort. In fact, the only disappointment was that we stayed for just one night. We would have happily spent more time here.
The staff could benefit from additional training. At times, when you greet them, they seem hesitant to respond, which comes across as somewhat unfriendly. It also appeared that some staff members were having a lot of fun chatting among themselves, occasionally losing focus on attending to guests. A more professional approach would certainly enhance the overall guest experience.
Another point worth mentioning is the breakfast. The white beans in tomato sauce were served cold, whereas this dish is normally expected to be served warm. While this may seem like a small detail, it is something that should be improved, especially in a hotel that aims to provide a high-quality dining experience.
Beste Lage wenn man morgens die Fähre nach Karimunjawa nimmt!
Der Pool ist sensationell und die Lage am Meer genauso - inkl Bedienung am Strand durch das Restaurant
Enormous rooms, right on the beach, nice pool.
Food was average, smelly bathroom, weird photo shoot taking place the whole time around the pool. Construction happening in the room next door and banging on my headboard at 8pm???
Even though I travel to Jepara for business, I usually stay near the beach, as it is nice for a relaxing and comfortable escape from traffic, etc. Coconut Lodge staff are friendly and efficient, and I especially enjoyed having breakfast and other meals available in the room, by the pool, or seaside.
Sometimes the noise of the children playing in the pool can be a distraction, but generally not a big concern.
Staff were nice.
The staff were nice and friendly but they were playing very loud music by the pool until 10 p.m. Our room faced the pool, and since there were no guests using the area, we were not sure who the music was for. We eventually had to ask them to turn it off.
The hotel grounds were generally well maintained, though the property was starting to show its age. The buildings and rooms appeared to have been painted fairly recently, but housekeeping could have been better, especially in the bathroom, where there was quite a bit of hair left in the shower. Although the linens had clearly been laundered, they were overdue for replacement. The bedsheets were no longer white and instead looked gray, stained, and torn. The towels were also yellowed and threadbare. Since we had already prepaid and were only staying one night, we didn’t bother switching hotels, but if we had been staying longer, or if we return to Jepara, we would choose the newer hotel next door, which was only a couple of dollars more per night. We had dinner at its rooftop restaurant, and both the hotel grounds and rooms were beautiful.
Mooie ligging. Prima personeel
Alles
Everything is nice. Staff will bring breakfast to your room, pool or beach areas. Ocean view room was fairly quiet, despite being near pool.
‘s Avonds in Jepara bij the Bullcave heerlijk gegeten. Het privéstrand werd schoongemaakt (was wel nodig) De zee was soms vies (plastic zakken etc), maar daar kan het hotel niets aan doen.
