Me quedó muy cerca de los trámites que tenía que hacer en el centro, ella habitación era amplia, limpia y cómoda.
Beautiful family home, nice and safe feeling location, helpful advice given, lovely facilities including veranda to sit on and filtered drinking water available.
Little hard to find in dark but there is a sign above gate, slightly creaky floorboards so was worried I might've disturbed other guests with early start
Really clean, nice furniture , beautiful view of the city and the Chimborazo Mountains, no noise during night or day , really quiet
Diego, Tulia and their daughter were extremely friendly, welcoming and caring hosts. They live as well in the stylishly furnished house and share their home with other travelers, so it’s a very personal place, but you still have your privacy. I stayed only two nights and everything was great. The room was very clean, bathroom renovated and clean, hot water, fresh towels, everything you need. Around the house there are enough options for dinner (try the sushi bar;) and a supermarket.
It’s a safe district, but you need to take metro or Uber to reach the historical center for example.
All in all I would recommend Casa de Tulia and I would have stayed longer or would return there! Thank you, Diego & Tulia:)
Just a small thing to be mentioned:
- the walls are thin, so if someone for example is watching TV in the next room you could maybe need earplugs in order to sleep (with them it was totally ok)
La casa de Tulia is spectacular. The location is great, the rooms comfortable, bright and clean, the ambience very friendly. I immediately felt at home. Tulia and Diego are great hosts and the breakfast amazing. Very much recommended this place
I have no complaints
The property is well distributed, very cozy, and comfortable. The young lady who greeted me was friendly and pleasant. The room was perfect I especially liked the warm blankets. Tulia is an excellent person very willing to help with future accommodation. She is certainly an over achiever trying to go above and beyond to help out as best as possible.
Breakfast was amazing! Just perfect before tackling some high altitude mountaineering.
Shower was very small
The people at Casa de Tulia are very kind and friendly. There was a big family gathering the night we arrived and we were right away invited to the table and given delicious tea. Two friendly dogs greeted us. Juan-Diego and his girlfriend Esther right away invited us to a little visit in the city and it was lovely and helpful having that kind of connection upon our arrival in Ecuador. The place is beautifully designed when it comes to furniture and decoration. There's lots of art and other beautiful things to look at.
The family didn't speak a lot of English but were so so friendly. We enjoyed interacting with them and they were very gracious even though we arrived much later than expected due to horrendous Quito traffiic.
Roof had a couple leeks when raining. Can't flush toilet paper.
The people
The amount of steps, but that is Quito for you
I loved my stay here. Tulia and her family are incredibly kind and generous with their time. The house is big, the rooms are large and I was made to feel like family from the beginning. The area is quiet and safe (i went for some runs). It's close to Rucu Pichincha. The facilities are great, chance to meet other guests.
Was a little difficult to find restaurants in the area, many close and open at the wrong times! La parrillería is a good one.
Everything at the house.
Nothing.
