Simple with just the necessities which is just perfect on an island holiday. Cute little hut with outdoor bathroom and shower. Comfy bed with Mosquito net. Was a nice little communal area in the centre to have food or a drink and chat. A Bonus is the provided bottled water and coffee!
The communal area could have had a sink and a bit more food storage space to make eating and cleaning easier.
Olens and his staff looked after us very well. They were friendly and helpful. Meals were great. Great location for surfing.
The standard room was very basic for what we paid. Just little things - holes in the walls and ceiling, no shower rose, holes in mossie net. No credit card facility - for $50 a night you should be able to pay by credit card. I recommend travelers check out the rooms before booking.
Location.. Just 200m to the beach and taxi boats, also 200m to the shops/cafes/restaurants.
The accommodation is basic and adequate when you’re just surfing everyday.
Nice staff, friendly.
Lunch and dinner basic but healthy.
I had a new western toilet and air conditioner in my room which was very nice to have.
Communal area in centre good to hangout with others.. with nice gardens..
Mosquitoes, geckos, mice, ants etc in the room and bathroom. The room is not sealed at all. There are too many gaps and open vents, big gaps under doors etc. Maybe just different standards to us westerners but we don’t like living with this level of hygiene..
Similarly gecko poo down walls, mouse poo on ledges and in corners, ant infestation in bathroom chasing the water, mosquitoes gather in toilet bowl water..
Breakfast just sweet bread. Other meals healthy but very similar everyday gets monotonous.
No handbasin in bathroom, just a bucket.
No toilet paper or soap. BYO!
Noisy area right in village.. often music and motorbikes revving at all hours.. animals everywhere making noises, especially roosters crowing all hours.. earplugs helped
Rats fighting on the tin roof during the night too!
Food was very good.
Location is perfect : central yet not on the main road. 5 minutes walk to the beach.
May still be a good deal for anyone traveling on a tight budget.
I had contact ahead of my arrival with someone who speaks English (the dad I think). Unfortunately he wasn't there during our stay.
We arrived from the port at 9pm with their own driver (very expensive compared to what the other places offer, but anyway) and there was no welcoming at all, no explanation, no toilet paper etc.
Place is rather dirty with mice poo in the room, garbage in the common area and the bathroom was full of mold.
Our room didn't lock.
We didn't get a chance to say goodbye as there was no one again.
The location was great, the food was great, all meals included.. the owners are lovely and well respected members of a beautiful community so it’s perfectly safe.. plenty of space to relax and enjoy relaxing time reading a book or using WIFI. Olins and his family are just wonderful hosts ☺️
I didn’t have the time to stay longer
Nice and quiet location. Safe place, the 3 homemade meals are included and nice
Very friendly owners, great food, awesome location, quite. Great value for money.
Bathroom could be better
AC not the coldest but ok
Lovely family run bungalows. Food excellent. Bungalow good size and bed very comfortable. Great location. Would love to return.
Cleanliness of bathroom needed improving and various small maintenance jobs needed actioning. Apart from that great.
Pricing system advantageous for those booked on share basis/ singles disadvantaged as bungalows (incl all meals) cost the same for 2 or 1 person which doesn’t make sense as 2 people eat 2X what a single person does. So (overly)great value share basis but quite expensive relative for single person to rent a bungalow. Suggest set up pricing differently on booking.com ( ie meals still included but rate differs depending on number accommodated in bungalow due to different food consumption)
Very good value for money. Excellent meals, central location, I enjoyed connecting with the other guests.
If Small maintenance issues were addressed could have made a big difference to the overall standard
Very kind family hosting the place. Olens is always a text away to solving any problem, also organized a scooter for me, a massage etc. The food was excellent, more varied compared to other homestays I stayed in Indonesia. Very close to the beach and the boats that go to T-land. It‘s basic but good for surf :)
The place could do with a little outside chilling area with hammocks or comfortable chairs to hang out in.
Really cosy little huts, loved the outdoor shower. Mozzie nets and fans meant no bites overnight. Food was delicious (albeit modest portion sizes) and meals were a great way to socialise with other guests.
Olens went above and beyond to help out with transfers from the port and renting a motorbike.
Nothing
Location, food and People/staff are amazing
The location of the accommodation ,it’s walking distance to the beach

The location and the meals were awesome! Right across the road from the beach - closer than shown on the Bookings.com map, right across from the church and soccer field. Close enough to walk to the beach with a cuppa in the morning. The meals are local fare, clean, healthy and tasty! Nice shady communal area to get out of the sun for a while. Rooms are very basic, great comfy matress and mozzie net. Lovely family business, best value in town.
Rooms could do with a lick of paint and some seating, but given the tough times these people would've endures in the last few years, we're happy to overlook that.
The perfect place for budget-conscious surfers! We planned to stay for two nights and ended up staying three weeks! Olens organised everything from ferry transfers, to scooter hire, to as many boat trips to the surf we needed. Nonchi’s food was unreal; a light breakfast, lots of vegetables, protein and variety at lunch and dinner.
