The accommodation was a homestay with large, comfortable rooms and balconies, and home-cooked meals for breakfast and dinner.
This was the first time I’ve had a tour guide fall asleep while leading a tour. When you book accommodation at The Rangers Lodge, it’s because you’re also booking a safari at Corbett National Park with Imran as your guide. Because we booked our stay through Booking.com and not a travel agency, and opted for shared safaris over private safaris, we paid less and were treated as irritants by Imran. On our safari he actually said to me, “I’m here for them,” meaning the couple who had paid travel agency fees. We did not visit the park areas that were listed at the time of booking, and although Imran had said he was excited to share the wildlife experience with my 10 year old child, we came out of it with little more than the names of the birds and few types of animals we were able to see. We watched a tiger video from 2005 on his laptop. I recommend seeking a friendly, energetic guide who doesn’t nap while on safari, for your visit to Corbett.
Room was good homestay .It had all the requirements & amenities what it counts for a homestay . But it is not value for Money.
We had a great stay at Imran's place. The room was very big with a good separate bathroom. You walk out onto views of Jim Corbett and are surrounded by green. The outside area is nice and big as well with a friendly furry stray cat. Imran also went out of his way to show us films about the tigers and he is very knowledgeable on the subject. There definitely was enough food (maybe a bit too much at times, haha) but overall the stay was lovely.
For us, the only lesser point would be the pricing. The price for the room is on the high side.
It was a quiet place off the highway, but very close to the national park entrance. Imran made us feel at home and made us feel like extra special guests.
