A characterful and quirky stay by the railway track
Pros:

We loved being right beside the railway track and it was exhilarating to see the 4 trains a day pass so close to our bedroom! And it was only 5 minutes walk along the railway track into the busy town of Ella.
Additional highlights were Dannu’s breakfasts and helpfulness, and the coffee made from the owner’s home-grown coffee beans.

Cons:

Not an easy approach for cars.

Lovely view
Pros:

Was very close to everything and could walk everywhere. Right next to the train tracks, on which you walk everywhere and is quiet with a lovely view over the mountains as the sun sets. Breakfast was fabulous!

Perfect location
Pros:

Really friendly staff, perfect location - a very easy walk into busy Ella but far enough away to be quiet & peaceful. Hot shower & comfortable room with great views. Good breakfast was also included.

Perfect location for Ella
Pros:

It was a great location, the family that run the home stay were so lovely and helpful and breakfast was delicious! 5 minute walk into town along the train tracks and walkable to 9 arch bridge and little Adam’s peak or short tuktuk ride, also had an amazing view and nice patio area just outside which we very much enjoyed in the evenings!

Cons:

Not down to the property but just advice for the area that there are little midges around and they do bite! There was a mosquito net but it had quite a few holes in it which wasn’t an issue for us as we carry our own but worth bearing in mind, still would 100% stay again and I’m sure if we’d said something about the net the family would have done something.

Appoggio economico ad Ella
Pros:

Comodo e vicino alla strada principale di Ella. Sicuramente più economico di quelli che si trovano in pieno centro. La camera è pulita, grande e comoda. Aria condizionata e bagno pulito. 10 minuti a piedi, lungo una passeggiata particolare, infatti camminerete sopra i binari del treno. Lo fanno tutti ed è assolutamente sicuro, se avrete la sfortuna di passare contemporaneamente al raro passaggio del treno, basterà spostarvi di lato. Sono treni lenti e c'è spazio e tempo per spostarsi. Andate tranquilli. Portate una torcia se uscire e rientrate di notte, è tutto completamente buio fino ai primi ristoranti.

Cons:

La posizione è comoda, però non centralissima e distante dagli start delle escursioni. I proprietari non sono praticissimi con l'inglese, ma non vi servirà comunicare molto. Garantiscono l'essenziale per capirsi.

Tolles Homestay
Pros:

Die Lage ist einfach perfekt. Man kommt über die Schienen zu Fuß überall gut hin. Die Gastgeberfamilie ist super nett und sehr hilfsbereit. Man bekommt jeden Morgen ein frisch zubereitetes Frühstück.

Cons:

Es ist zwar kein Minuspunkt aber man sollte wissen, dass es dort kein warmes Wasser gibt.

Fantastic!
Pros:

Everything is great: the room, the breakfast, the family that welcomes you. It was my best breakfast in Sri Lanka. And what a landscape (happy view!). The beautiful Ella Rock will be just in front of your room. Once you learn the way via the tracks it gets easier to reach there.

Cons:

I don’t have any complaints.

Splendide 🤩
Pros:

Panoramas magiques et super emplacement.
Un super petit déjeuner avec des personnes adorables. Malgré la voix ferré qui passe devant je n’aurais jamais échangé ma place en sachant qu’ils ne circulent pas la nuit !

Pros:

Posizione eccezionale! Colazione e servizi impeccabili. Ci hanno aiutato con il nostro trasporto a Udawalawe (non proprio semplicissimo da raggiungere con i mezzi!)
