Very nice view and quiet location.
The couple that take care of the place are lovely, kind and helpful.
Food was delicious.
Rooms were clean, decent size with terrace and private bathroom.
I saw many cute birds in the morning and you can also see the sunrise from here if you are lucky and there are no clouds.

Exceptionally location. The host treated me like family and helped me with everything. He took me everywhere in his tuk tuk to show me around. Food was delicious and fresh and authentic. Hot water through the day, comfortable beds with mosquito nets. Location is far from Ella City. Surrounded by nature and birds. Peaceful and quiet. If you're looking to relax and unwind, this is the place to go. As a solo female traveller, it was v v safe and hassle-free.

At Mount 'n Mist you get 5 star views and service at homestay prices. The accommodation is located high up in the hills above Elle, but the owner is happy to run you to and from the centre when required. There are a few shops and restaurants 10 minutes walk down the hill. The night we arrived the owners cooked us the best curry and rice we've had so far, and we dined watching the full moon rise. The next morning our son complained about being woken up by the birds singing! This is a lovely place to unwind for a few days.

Tuk tuk ride by the owner up to the property is worth the money alone! Great location up in the hills outside the town. Very peaceful and beautiful with stunning views. Room was basic but fine. Couple running it were lovely and the food was good.

Mount'n mist is the perfect place to truly experience the heart of Sri Lanka – its people, warmth, food, hospitality, and nature. The lovely couple who run the homestay are absolutely wonderful. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, always with a warm smile and genuine kindness.

The food was a real highlight – both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with plenty of variety and authentic Sri Lankan flavours.

Our host also took us around Ella in his tuk-tuk, showing us amazing spots like the Nine Arches Bridge and the tea plantations. He was always cheerful, super helpful, and really knowledgeable about the area.

The house itself is cosy, clean, and has everything you need. It's nestled up in the mountains, surrounded by mango and avocado trees – a truly peaceful setting where you fall asleep to the sounds of nature.

It’s a really special place, and we’d come back in a heartbeat. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

The hosts were very friendly. We got our laundry done cheaply and had some great home cooked breakfasts and a dinner. The room was a good size, good hot water perfects balcony, all that you needed.

The family is incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely cares about their guests. They went out of their way to make me comfortable, including changing my sheets and giving me a new room when there was a problem. Their hospitality felt truly heartfelt — I felt cared for like family.

The room was cosy and comfortable and the hot water shower was a blessing in the cooler mountains. The hosts were super welcoming and the included breakfast was delicious.

I had a wonderful stay here. I felt very comfortable. The location of the home was in the mountains, not too far from the centre. I walked to the centre and was able to have some of the most beautiful views along the way. The family of host was very kind and helpful. I felt at home with them :) Absolutely recommend this place.
