Rien
Everything about this place was superb, if you are looking for a offbeat location in Kaza to stay this would be perfect choice. Property is extremely beautiful.
Situated in a quaint village , this place offers everything that one would wish for in mountains.
The place is tastefully done up while maintaining the simple local way of life.
The staff is extremely kind and helpful. A 10/10 place that I personally would recommend.
Tethys Himalayan Den is tucked away in one of the most remote villages of Spiti Valley...while it is just a stone throws away from Chicham Bridge (Asia's Highest suspension bridge) but it is far away from the hustle and bustle of the motorcades...you look into the most magnificent views of the valley and expect Snowfall even in hotter months like june.
All that cold and remoteness is pleasantly eased by the most gracious staff of the place, who are well versed with what is happening in world and everything local. Set amidst the Peas plantation, this is a very well appointed and the resort for discerning
The best food was served and location was the best we have experienced so far
there was nothing we didn't like
the rooms
the customer service, the convenience, the comfort factor, the bathroom
Staff
The location, the view, the food, the staff... everything was awesome. Specially the night sky at this village is so full of stars. The Milky way is visible on a clear sky.
The last 50m to the property has a sharp u-turn, which we were not able to maneuver, but the caretaker sent a staff to help. He drove the car till property. Just a note for self drive people.
Perfectly located, wonderful views, clean and comfortable rooms, and on top of that very good hospitality from Mr Faizu.
Will love to visit this place again !
We are doctors from Indore who were returning from Hampta pass trek and at the last camp site all of a sudden decided to travel to Spiti and made our booking with Tethys Den for one night on our way to Kaza . Within 10 minutes I received a call from the owner who guided us to the property . We were extremely tired after spending 4 days and 3 nights at the trek , but were totally amazed by the room we were provided which had glass walls with majestic views outside of the mountains. The room very clean and cosy , well carpeted with a king size bed with comfortable mattress and white sheets . The bathroom was also quite big with plenty of hot water and good quality toiletries.
Our host Mr Faisullah was very warm and provided good info about the place. We were served coffee in the dining area which itself was so beautiful with mattress and floor sitting with plate of fresh plums and oranges on the table. We were instantly energised and stayed in the dining area chatting with other guests till dinner was served. The dinner was also wholesome and very tasty . Mr Faisullah offered different kinds of pickles made from local vegetables.
Overall it was a very good experience. Would definitely recommend this place for stay in Spiti as , it is on a height of 14000 ft with fewer tourists and mad rush of Kaza , a quiet village of Chicham .
Next day we had a booking at Kaza , and we really missed Tethys , wished we had another day there.
Can’t think of anything
It feels cozy. Rooms are good. Dining area is excellent. Service is best. Faizu, caretaker, is very helpful and always there in need.
Nothing that I can think of.
Tethys Himalayan Den at Chicham, Spiti Valley, offers an fantastic stay. The warm hospitality of owner Mohit and his staff truly sets this place apart. Their attentive service, combined with absolutely breathtaking views and cozy accommodations, makes it a perfect retreat. Highly recommended for an unforgettable Himalayan experience.
What would be helpful:
1) More signages for the last mile please :)
2) Also, if you have connections with some good drivers who are extremely pleasant and do these Spiti Tours regularly, please suggest those as well. Especially because a pleasant driver can make a whole lot of a difference in the journey experience, and they are hard to get by.
Nothing to be liked at the facility. Even I checked out a day advance by bearing ;loss to myself. Highly over priced and over rated facility.
