Went to Brigadier’s Cottage completely unplanned—and what a beautiful surprise it turned out to be.

Neetu, the host, took care of everything right from guiding me on how to reach the place to suggesting what to explore and when. The staff is incredibly warm and humble—special thanks to Ajit and Balveer… and yes, “Ravindra Jadeja” 😊—such lovely people who made the stay even more memorable.

If you’re looking to experience true country life, this is it. Tucked away near Kempty, it’s peaceful, quiet, and deeply rejuvenating. Staying amidst nature, watching time slow down, you genuinely feel yourself unwind and recharge. You wake up to mountains what else you need.

What I loved most—they simply ask what you’d like to eat and make it happen. It felt like a real holiday in every sense.

Also, I later discovered they have a stay in Rishikesh—The Rampour Hotel in Tapovan—@the_rampour_rishikesh
This is run by Aseem and Neetu. I missed staying there this time, but I would definitely recommend it. In a place like Rishikesh, which can feel quite commercial, it’s rare to find spaces run with such passion and hands-on care.

I’ve heard of people staying there for months—writers, doctors, students—people who come for peace and end up staying longer than planned. Neetu and Aseem passion and care for people is the reason.

Both places truly reflect warmth, intention, and soul. Definitely somewhere I’d go back to again. 🤍

BEST EVER HOME STAY , WHICH ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE HOME BUT HAS ALL THE SERVICES OF A STAR PROPERTY

If you are looking for a quaint stay and exceptional service , personalized to the maximum, must visit the Brigadiar's Cottage.

Tucked away in a nice corner and done up with care and passion, one finds solitude, peace, warmth all put together in one basket.

The place grows on you and you dont feel like leaving , wishing if you could have this place as home

From the decor to the hosts, as well as their pets! The geese were so funny and cute, while the cows and dogs were rather sweet but what fascinated me the most were the bees and how organic this place is. A truly great place if you want to get out from the city .

Pros:

"Dream come true" stay! Waking up to the magnificent Himayayan mountains view from the balcony and delicious breakfast, greeted by helpful staff. The room was spacious, clean, and warm. Enjoyed the chat with other guests sitting around the fireplace at dinner, yummy, and cooked with local produce. Above all, it was the "state of the art" hospitality and genuine kindness of the owner, Mr and Mrs Varma, who made this stay so memorable. They treated me as if I were their old friend or a family member, helping me from taxi booking to planning a local day trip and even giving me beautiful gift on Christmas Eve which I will treasure for the rest of my life. Highly recommended for everyone!

Nothing here matches with the pictures they have uploaded
The rooms are in very bad condition and they charge you hefty 8600 for the absolute waste
After complaining about the bad condition of the room they made excuses and started saying that they charge for an overall experience that includes animals ambiance etv and upgraded our stay to their luxury cottage which is also not worth 9 k..
Trust me this place is not worth going at all.
