Gentillesse, disponibilité, activités....et une belle énergie qui se diffuse ! En toute simplicité pour un prix qui se veut rester abordable par tous. Belle éthique.
Un homestay tout en simplicité que je recommande les yeux fermés : à deux pas de la plage et de quelques restaurants aux alentours, avec des espaces communs très agréables pour se poser et jouer aux cartes, la possibilité de louer des scooters et de faire des excursions géniales. Mais ce sont surtout l’hospitalité et l’accueil des hôtes qui font tout le charme de ce homestay : le propriétaire est très réactif, disponible et serviable ! et surtout, surtout, Aldes et Toro sont les meilleurs et ils ont rendus notre séjour plus que parfait à nous montrer l’ile de fond en comble et partager avec nous des moments authentiques à travers leur bonne humeur. Je serais restée bien plus que 5 jours si j’avais pu

Was cool vibe with other backpackers. Comfy beds, good pillows, super close to beach. Aircon pretty luxury as well
Cook wasn’t very friendly, food could take ages. Staff often very hard to find. Food a bit pricy and serving sizes weren’t great except the miegoreng and nasi goreng. Especially the nasi goreng was great. Taxi to ferry and back way over price. We also did a snorkel tour and they gave us marks but no snorkels. The snorkeling wasn’t great, and the people who did it the day before said the staff caught fish and fried them on a beach fire and got them coconuts. We didn’t get any of that. Our guide was very anti social and the tour was expensive. Cool fish at the last spot tho 🤷
Not very close to ferry, no fruit near by
The bed and the location are good. It’s not in front of the beach, you have to walk around the arrival of the mangrove in the sea
The staff is not at all welcoming, and no one speaks English. Whenever you ask them something, the answer is “no.” The kitchen is never open. Either the cook isn't there, or the ingredients aren't ready. In short, a very disappointing experience. I came here for the atmosphere and to meet the locals, but it was impossible. It feels like we're annoying them more than anything else.

We arrived with the slow ferry very ealy morning, and nobody was waiting for us. Just before 7am the amazing and smiley Gigi (I dont know how to spell her name) arrived and talk to us. Our room wasn't ready but they organized everything quickly. The girls were very good cook. Meals were delicious, good portion and great price. They rooms were very clean and big. We weren't expecting that. There are other places to eat nearby and little shops. You can rent motorbikes and surfboards. We did surf trips and snorkeling trips. Fantastic! The other guests were super nice and we all had a good time together.
Unfortunately we had to pay for the Mentawai tax. We get the slow ferry to avoid it, but somehow they showed up in our accommodation. I don't mind paying a tax if it's going to be used to help the community, but pay AUD 400.00 (it's a lot of money in Indonesia) for a corrupted Government piss me off! Because the tax, we have to slow down in other things. For example, We didn't make one last surf trip because it was small waves and we have to save money. We are traveling for 2 months so for us, makes a difference.
Another thing is, to surf in this area we have to pay for a boat. All the waves are far. My husband paddled from the beach couple of times with other guys, but it's a long one.
