Pros:

Loved the location and the landlord couple. A car is useful, but it worked just fine also without. Mind: late autumn to early spring are really cold.

Nous sommes partagés entre la gentillesse des propriétaires et le manque de propriété/équipement.
Pros:

Les propriétaires, un couple âgé, était très gentille et parlait parfaitement le français et l’anglais.
La maison était belle.

Cons:

Toilettes et salle de bain très sales. Cuisine très mal équipée, sans fenêtre, la lumière ne fonctionnait pas. Tout le câblage électrique n'était certainement pas aux normes de sécurité.
Maison froide et humide (en novembre).

Sadly disappointed.
Pros:

The main house looked very nice, but I cannot comment as we did not stay there.

Cons:

The independent house was dirty and not well maintained. The kitchen was dirty, the bathroom mouldy, window coverings were broken, a light globe was missing on the stairs and in general it was in poor condition. It was the worst accommodation we've had in our 3 weeks in Japan. However the main house may be better.

It was disappointing relative to what we had experienced throughout Japan. This stay was poor value.
Pros:

Although only 1 of the 3 of us was comfortable to use the shower due to cleanliness concerns, the shower water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water.

Cons:

There were 3 adults and we were provided with 3 very small hand towels and only 1 regular towel. There were missing bed linens such that we all slept in our street clothes. Several lighting fixtures did not have light bulbs in them. The dining room table had residual grease and food residue from previous use. The bathroom sink drain had hair in it.

Pros:

Charming Japanesse Gentleman showed us the rooms and recommended a lovely restaurant we wouldn't have been able to find by ourselves. We spent a great night here and enjoyed our stay very much.

Pros:

家族水入らずでゆったりできた。
キレイな水の海岸からすぐの立地で良かった。

Belle maison mais séjour décevant
Pros:

Les hôtes étaient sympathiques, la maison est magnifique.

Cons:

La chambre proposée ne correspondait pas à notre réservation (chambre familiale de luxe avec salle de bain privée, vue sur le jardin). Il s'agissait d'une annexe au fond du jardin, qui sentait le moisi et qui n'était pas propre, draps et lieux. Après avoir demandé de changer, les hôtes nous ont installés dans la maison en s'excusant, dans les salles principales en fermant les cloisons et face au jardin. Les tatamis et oreillers n'avaient pas de housses nettoyables, les sanitaires communs n'étaient pas très propres.
Le couple qui tient la maison, malgré leur dévouement, semblait depassé par le monde accueilli ce soir-là.

You get a deep sense of history and living atmosphere of older times
Pros:

Beautiful house with beautiful tokonoma, tatami and and amazing look from inside the house to the outside; the hosts explained the historical background of the house - we were deeply impressed; hosts are also experienced with Japanese tea ceremony; just sitting there and watching the beautiful interior is a moment where you can grasp a bit of Japanese older times; the hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly; sitting together with them was a moment of ichigo - ichie;

Cons:

Everything was perfect !!!
I would come again just for breathing and sensing this beautiful atmosphere;

Pros:

This guesthouse is beautiful and very charming! We loved our stay here, it was really peaceful and it's located near quite a few hot springs/bath houses. The owners are also super sweet! Highly recommend.

Novel stay in an accessible yet historic place
Pros:

It was very traditional and the hosts were very welcoming (: We got along well in English. The property itself is a bit of a marvel and the facilities were quite reasonable. The bath is sizeable.

Cleanliness was perfect! There was not a hair out of place.

The walk from the station is about 10 minutes. Even in heavy snow most of the road was clear. It’s very easy to get to and from Tottori if you observe the schedule.

I recommend the walk to Hamasaka station. There are places to eat in that part of town and we caught the bus to Yumura Onsen for a very pleasant day trip.

It was a very comfortable stay. I recommend it greatly

A nice relaxing stay in a historic small bay town
Pros:

Our wonderful host let us stay across the street in another unit that was completely private because it was available, and this was a great option for our family. He was very kind and responsive, and we really enjoyed our stay!
