We love everything about this place.
It has a homey sense; we really felt like home. We spent four nights here. Most of the evenings, we enjoyed the veranda and saw the Brunei night sky.
Thank you so much, Kem, for your hospitality; we are going to miss you and all the cats, especially Buyoung

Very unique experience and lovely view from the property across the water. Breakfast was also great and we felt comfortable to come and go as we please. The host also connected us with a private driver to help us get to and from airports in other cities- the driver was fantastic!

A must place to stay when you are in Brunei !

We had a wonderful time during our stay, Andrew was incredibly welcoming and took wonderful care of us. His son even offered us a ride to the airport at the end of our stay. The location is simply amazing and we had a blast exploring Brunei from there.

Everything, excellent location, beautiful view, unique experience staying in the water village, easy to find, comfortable, great breakfast, AC. I can’t thank the hosts Andrew and Kem enough, I enjoyed it so much I’ve been recommending people go to Brunei to stay at the lodge! I’ve been travelling for months so don’t have much time to make reviews but have found time for this place. You won’t regret staying here 😊

Amazing Center location with great view. The host was so attentive to details and helpful. Early breakfast was provided as I had multiple day trips and need to leave early. Overall stay felt like I visit my relatives 😊. Absolutely must stay here while in Bansar!!!

We have enjoyed every moment we stayed with Kem, Andrew and Martin, the whole family. Our chef Andrew made us delicious breakfast, so we won't go hungry and having trouble hunting for food during the day. Our host Kem gave professional ideas and suggestions about local tourism, and she kindly organized the mangrove trip for us in the morning. We saw proboscis monkeys, wild crocodiles, water birds and long tail monkeys during the trip and the charge is fair. Martin advised us about free parking information opposite the residence and it was safe to park there overnight.
Our room is clean and comfy, just like home. All facilities are working perfectly, including fan and air-con to guarantee a good night sleep. And last, how can we not talk about the lovely cats? Countess looks after the house all day long, he likes to stay on the platform/balcony and enjoy the good view of the great Mosque from a distance, Buyong is the naughty young boy who adventures all night out and brings back half of a dead fish in the morning, and dear girl flea, she is white all over and so elegant, but likes to hide in the back storage room and she finally gets familiar with us on second day and allows us to pat her.
Kem's house is full of art and inspirations, and full of the culture of water village, the only pity is she was training new guides, and we didn't get to spend too much time with her in the house.
Location is perfect, the great Mosque and waterfront was just in front of your eyes. We rent a car and driving in Brunei is smooth like in Australia, road users are polite, obey rules and respect each others on the road. We even drove down to Seria to check on the oil fields.

THE CATS

We liked everything. From the begining, the communication from Kem and the welcoming of her husband Andrew was amazing. The location, the breakfast, the environment, the facilities, and everything was completely awesome. We strongly recommend this place to stay in Brunei!! 20 out of 10 :-)

The people are extremely nice and helpfull with everything. The breakfast is good and you will have a great view from the living room/garden.

Kem’s place is the coziest most beautiful place to be and chill. She made that appealing and welcoming home stay out of the grandfathers house and is now hosting few lucky travellers to Brunei. She’ll teach and tell you about Brunei and give you the feeling of being at home far away from home. Additionally you’ll be staying in the “Floating city”, what couldn’t be any cooler, hanging on a terrace on pillowy armchairs with a view on BSB and the most important mosque and beautiful sunsets.
The room has ac and a fan what does give you pretty good sleeping conditions and it is beautiful too. Being served a lovely traditional breakfast with explanations complete this experience of total “Gemütlichkeit”.

I stayed at kem’s place for a couple of days when I was in brunei and honestly I wish I stayed there for my whole trip! honestly kem’s place is beautiful to say the least with her art work and fine aesthetic she used to design the place, its so comfy and homey and I was always admiring it. kem also has 3 lovely cats - counters, bu yong and flea, whom are all lovely too! I rented a car in brunei so kem would tell me many interesting places to visit and I’ll go to each of them. many of these places you may not even know from just googling "places to visit in brunei", so I really appreciated that. if you can drive I personally recommend you to rent a car because its really cheap and you can access places so much better and brunei is a great and safe place to drive in. kem also has a wonder son Martin, who is lovely to speak to and always helping her out! she even got her friend to bring me on a hike I was really hoping to go for! Overall a 10/10 stay I am so glad I got the opportunity to meet her and experience all her recommendations! Would 100% stay with kem when I go back to brunei :’))
