Good location for Sigiriya friendly home stay
Pros:

Good location, many restaurants in walking distance,Family run home stay, very friendly and helpful, The owner dropped us off at Lion rock at 5am for sunrise climb and picked us up, said no charge.
Also have a tuk tuk to help drop you and pick up for good price around town.
Have a nice new pool and bar behind,
Have a new bungalow which was very nice.
We had a very early start when leaving, they made us breakfast before we left at 6.30am.
Enjoyed our stay here,

Pros:

Ik heb genoten van mijn verblijf bij The Sigiri Roar. De kamers zijn fijn en het zwembad is heerlijk voor wat verkoeling. Het is rustig gelegen, maar alsnog op loopafstand van het centrum van Sigiriya. De familie is super vriendelijk en gastvrij, en bracht me met de tuktuk overal naartoe indien dat nodig was (ook 's ochtends vroeg!)

Famille très accueillante, au petit soin.
Petit resto très bon, piscine très propre, très proche du centre de sigyria, et pourtant aucun bruit, a milieu de la nature, magnifique.

Cons:

Si on veut cherché un petit point négatif, chambre un peu humide, mais nous sommes au sri lanka....

Pros:

We had a great stay at this wonderful homestay. They helped us getting a driver from Colombo and offered a lot of services. We also did a cooking class which was amazing. The people are so friendly, the breakfast is yummy and you can have a great chill at a pool. The location is also great, everything is close by. I can recommend this place to everybody.

Maleesha and his team were absolutely amazing, very hospitable, friendly and went above and beyond.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The food at the restaurant was incredible.
Facilities were very well maintained. Could not recommend highly enough

Indika et sa fille sont vraiment adorable et au petits soins avec nous, ils ont été d’excellents conseils sur notre séjo

L’établissement correspond parfaitement à la description. Il est géographiquement bien situé pour visiter et profiter de Sigiriya et ses a cotés
La piscine est parfaite pour se rafraîchir après avoir gravit lion rock ou pidurangala.

Top Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!
Pros:

Die Familie ist sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend, sie haben uns einen schönen Ausflug organisiert und konnten uns auch sonst bei allen Fragen weiterhelfen. Das Essen, sowohl Frühstück, als auch Abendessen ist super lecker und frisch zubereitet. Die Zimmer sind zwar einfach aber sehr sauber und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.

Cons:

Aktuell ist noch etwas Baustelle, was die Schönheit der Anlage etwas schmälert aber uns hat das nicht sehr gestört.

Das Zimmer war sauber und in gutem
Zustand, freundliche Gastgeber. In der weiteren Umgebung viele Restaurants. Auf dem Gelände schöne Natur mit dem angrenzenden Fluss und vielen Pflanzen.

Cons:

Die Anlage ist in einigen Bereichen eine Baustelle und nicht überall aufgeräumt. Der gemietete Roller war in schlechtem Zustand und leider auch gefährlich zu verwenden. Die vermittelte Safari über einen Freund war ok, auf Grund fehlender Englisch Kenntnisse des Guides war es aber nicht lehrreich und dafür verhältnismäßig teuer.

Idyllisch gelegen mit schönem Pool
Pros:

Wir waren mit unserem Familienzimmer im 1. Stock mit AC sehr zufrieden. Das Frühstück war lecker und wird an einem wunderschönen Platz am Bach serviert. Einmal haben wir Abendessen bestellt (Gemüsecurry mit Reis), das sehr lecker und reichhaltig war. Die Familie der Eigentümerin wohnt auf demselben Grundstück und ist bei allen Anliegen und Fragen immer sehr hilfsbereit! Wir haben dort auch eine Safari Tour im Kaudulla N. P. und zwei weitere Taxitransfers an die Ostküste bzw. nach Kandy gebucht zu sehr fairen Preisen. Indika ist ein sehr guter und hilfsbereiter Fahrer. Wir kommen gern wieder!

Pros:

Der Pool war eine tolle Abkühlung und sauber. Schön war auch das Angebot, dort abends Curry zu essen. Kein Muss, aber erleichtert die Essenssuche. Der Service für Tuktuks ging sehr unkompliziert. Das tolle Restaurant Chef Lady in direkter Laufnähe können wir nur empfehlen.

Cons:

Leider war vieles nicht schlüssig und wir mussten oft nachfragen und waren uns unsicher wie welche Prozesse dort vor Ort laufen (z.B. wann/wie/wo gibt es Frühstück/Abendessen und andere Alltagsprozesse als Gast). Es war nicht immer leicht die Dinge rauszufinden, weil das Personal nicht immer auffindbar war. Aber am Ende geht alles ;-)

Wir hatten leider Wasser an der Wand im Zimmer und mehrere Frösche im Bad. Die nächsten Restaurant sind 5-10 min Fußweg entfernt. Die Baustelle ist noch da, stört aber nicht.
