Great accommodation in Aveiro. It's centrally located, close to everything. The room was clean.
The host, Paulo, is amazing! He gave us a bigger room then what we reserved, because it was available. Also, he was very helpful with letting us know how to get around the city, recommended restaurants, activities etc.
We liked everything.
The location is at walking distance from the main landmarks you're interested to see. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 toilet and a kitchen. There's also an extra room occupied by the owner, but he doesn't stay there 24/24, he mainly uses it as work office during some hours of the day. The second bedroom didn't have anyone, so we basically had the apartment all for ourselves and we absolutely loved this, as well as the kitchen: it's big and very well equipped, the owner also welcomed us by offering us Porto wine, which we are so grateful for and we really enjoyed it. He left the bottle for us to have some more later on during our one night stay as well, very nice of him. Just weird though the fact that he put labels "✓" and "X" on the doors of the kitchen and you can understand that it basically means "good to take things inside here"/"do not open this one instead", but he carried on explaining this basic thing as if we were kids in elementary school, lol.
The apartment in itself is beautiful and the room where we slept was very cool. There was a big insect on the couch in the room but we freed it out of the door/window and get along with it, it's nothing to complain of.
The only thing is that the owner, although very nice, at times he ended up sounding a bit "pushy", oppressive and conceited. Don't get me wrong: we appreciated all the times he sent us texts asking if everything was okay or if we needed anything, as it's very nice for someone to make sure your needs are met, but when he's texting you 3 times a day each day (day before, day of stay, day after) might be a bit too much. We also appreciated his warm hospitality and everything he offered us (the wine as I already mentioned, the possibility to have discounted boat tours and meals in some restaurants of his friends - we didn't do it/go there at the end though, etc.) but when it came to him showing us the map of where to go in the city and what to see, he basically asked me what I had planned and he snobbed our plan and just carried on talking about what HE advises us to do. It's very nice that he put all the effort in this activity and regardless all I still advise everyone to go and stay here, but this is just a personal opinion and humble advice for him: you're doing a good job, but sometimes be more respectful of the guest's preferences as well, as we are not all the same, some people may arrive unprepared, while others not at all.
In other places, you have the map shown and explained to you (where to eat, what to see/do) but not in a way where the creator of the map wants just to show off a bit and make your ideas irrelevant. At the end of the day, I had already all of the things he told us to see included in my original plan anyway.
Paulo is a great host who knows so much about Aveiro. His place is an easy walk from the train station (15 to 20 minutes) and close to the canals. He has great maps of the main locations to see and good restaurant recommendations. The facilities are very good. Spacious bedroom with comfortable bed and small balcony, good bathroom, well equipped kitchen, all you could want. Highly recommended.
Everything positive that someone has written before is true!
The owner has great hospitality, the location is excellent, close to everything.
Pay attention to the parking instructions you will receive from the owner, it will lead you to a great and free parking spot.
Great value for price.

I thought maybe the other reviews might be fake, but this guy is actually one of the best hosts I've ever had.
A history lesson, local tips and recommendations, pre-made itinerary suggestions and a glass of Port Wine. And we hadn't even seen the room yet!
The rooms were clean and rather comfortable, the kitchen has everything you would at home (dishes to spices) and the bath water is as hot as you can handle.
Oh, and if there is rain, he has several umbrellas for you to borrow.
If this place is available, you should stay here!
they put what you need in the kitchen, clean and quite.
easy location . helpful host
Our host was welcoming and went above and beyond to provide us with information so we could tour Aveiro in its entirety. He upgraded us. Treated us to Porto and was charming and helpful to he sure we had everything we needed.
Our accommodation was close to the Cental Canal and handy to many restaurants and gondola tours. It couldn’t have been better!
Parking was a short distance from the accommodation but this seems typical in Portugal. It was free.
